Good News As The Wingers Return

I am sure that there was no smile wider than Garry Monk's this morning when he heard the news that both Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer would be fit for the season opener on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Both missed last week's disappointing defeat to Villarreal at the Liberty through injury but both should be available to play on Saturday which gives more selection headaches but of the nice variety for a change.

It now means that Monk must choose you would assume between these two and Jefferson Montero for the two starting wide man spots although I would definitely start Montero given his display last weekend - you would certainly assume that he could trouble the Man Utd defence if nothing else to give them something to think about.

That may mean that as per our 'If you were Garry' feature earlier in the week that Gomis may have to start his Swansea Premier League career on the bench but what an option to have available to us to come off that bench as and when we choose to use him.

Nathan for me would still get the nod at the moment to be on the other flank but again with Routs sat on the bench waiting for his chance then all of a sudden the attack looks more potent than it could be and means that we can adjust if we see the need to get things working differently.

Now if we could only complete that signing of Fernandez and put him in next to Ashley Williams ahead of Saturday then there may be a few more smiles to replace some of the doom and gloom that seems to have settled this week.

Every cloud...
