If You Were Garry - Chelsea Away
Thursday, 11th Sep 2014 07:18 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

I guess when the fixture lists were drawn back in June there would have been very many that would gave picked this weekends clash at Chelsea as the game where the only two 100% Premier League records went on the line.

But that is reality this weekend as the Swans head off to Chelsea with nine points from nine in the bag and sitting comfortably in second place in the Premier League. It presents a nice problem for the manager Garry Monk who must now make his decision whether he keeps his side unchanged again or whether he makes his first league changes of the season.

Three games so far have seen the same starting line up but that has to change at some point (as well as our 100% record) but will either or both happen this weekend?

Goalkeeper

There isn't much choice to be made here at all. Lucasz Fabianski has been brilliant between the sticks conceding just one goal in the three league games and that means he will naturally be the first name on the teamsheet as he retains his position between the sticks.

Defenders

This is where I can genuinely see the first change of the season. Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor were bot on international duty this week but both will play at the Bridge as will Angel Rangel. It will then come down to the decision we have pondered over for a while as to whether it is Jordi Amat or Federico Fernandez that starts alongside Ash. Amat has done nothing wrong and it would be harsh to drop him but this is a game where the experience of an Argentinian centre half would be useful and on that basis for me I think it is going to be Fernandez in for his league debut.

Midfield

There has been discussion floating around that Amat could move his way into midfield for this game but we tried that at Old Trafford last season and I don't think it works. KI, Shelvey and Gylfi have proved successful so far this season and despite the consideration to Amat and even Tom Carrol the answer for me is an unchanged three so in they stay.

Wide Men

Routledge and Dyer have four goals between them already and this isn't going to see either of them benched at the momen especially considering they had two weeks off thanks to Roy Hodgson's inability to cross the Severn Bridge so these two pick themselves.

Up Front

Here it gets tricky. Wilf is the man in possession - three starts and no goals. Bafe started one in the Capital One Cup and scored one. I like both of them but Wilf has had a long week travelling so the logic for me says Bafe this week up front with Wilf to come off the bench in the second half.

So there you have our view, we will line up on Saturday like this
