Ki Linked With Arsenal As Schneiderlin Completes Man Utd Move

The completion of the kind of deal that will take Morgan Schneiderlin to Old Trafford is always bound to have knock on effects and one of those could well be Arsenal turning their attention to Ki Sung-Yeung if reports are to be believed.

The Daily Star is reporting that United will pay an initial £20m rising to £25m to land Schneiderlin on a £120,000-a-week contract which in itself is crazy enough but it could well be a deal that costs the Swans one of their own stars.

The Express reported that Ki was a target for Arsenal who also wanted Schneiderlin to bolster their midfield as they try and turn their annual Champions League qualification into a proper title challenge for next season.

Ki was one of our stars of last season making 33 appearances for the Swans to re-ignite a career with the club that looked lost under the previous manager Michael Laudrup.

After spending a season on loan at Sunderland, Ki was back and looking the kind of midfielder we had bought when we paid Celtic £6m for his services three years ago.

And the faith shown in him by Garry Monk was justified as we completed our best ever Premier League season finishing in 8th place with 56 points.

It was the kind of form that was always likely to attract the interest of other clubs and with Arsenal now looking as if they have missed out on their number 1 midfield target attention could turn back to Ki with them potentially trying to tempt the Swans with a £12m to £15m bid to secure his services.
