Taylor Wants Man Utd Repeat
Saturday, 8th Aug 2015 06:30 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

This time last season the Swans were preparing themselves for an opening day clash at Man Utd and it was a clash that they won against the odds thanks to goals from Ki Sung-Yeung and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

This time around it is another clash away from home but against the Champions in Chelsea and the Swans are again clear outsiders to come away from the opening game with three points under their belt.

But of course that does not mean that the Swans are heading to the Bridge as an already beaten team and left back Neil Taylor is hopeful of a repeat of that historic day twelve months ago.

We have never beaten Chelsea in a Premier League fixture and our previous four trips at this level to their home have seen us beaten on all four occasions but Taylor is right when he refers back to a similar position this time last year.

"Last year we had the game against Manchester United and we got off to a great start,” Taylor said. “We will look to do the same again this weekend, but we’re under no illusions of how good Chelsea are.

“We know that if we go there and play to the best of our ability then we’ve got a chance of getting a result. We’ll be right up for it, the game is on TV and we’ve got nothing to lose.

“There’s no good or bad time to play Chelsea, so it’s exciting to start the season there.”
