Dyer - Team Spirit Could Beat Man Utd
Friday, 28th Aug 2015 07:54 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Nathan Dyer made his first start of the season on Tuesday night and was on the scoresheet as the Swans progressed to the Third Round of the Capital One Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over York City.

Despite speculation linking the winger with a move away from the club this summer, Dyer is still a Swansea player and admits himself that he wants to be a Swansea player declaring that he won't be leaving the club.

There were rumours of Premier League interest in the player who started last season on top form but saw it dwindle a little towards the end although the statistics of the season will tell you that he was always very much in the mind of Garry Monk albeit many of his appearances at the back end of the season came off the bench.

But he hopes that his game time on Tuesday and the long demands of a Premier League season will give him opportunities again this season although he knows that the form of the likes of Jefferson Montero and Andre Ayew make it very difficult for him.

The Swans welcome Manchester United to the Liberty Stadium on Sunday with our big spending opponents also unbeaten in the Premier League this season and having secured their progress to the group stages of the Champions League in midweek.

But Dyer says that money isn't everything as the Swans prepare for the game “They have made some unbelievable signings with the money they have spent,” he added.

“But we showed against Chelsea we are more than capable of competing with the big teams.

“Money’s not everything – team spirit is the key.

“At Swansea we have shown that spirit through the years since we were in the Championship and what that can do for a club.

“We have got better and better and hopefully that can continue and we can compete against the likes of United.”
