Monk Relishing Manchester United Challenge
Friday, 28th Aug 2015 18:54 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

Garry Monk is one Premier League manager who has a 100% record against Manchester United thanks to the league double that we achieved last season and he will be looking to continue that on Sunday at the Liberty.

Monk became the first Swans manager to do the double over United last season and those two results mean that we have won three of the last four clashes between the two sides and there is a growing belief that we can make that four from five by the time 6pm comes around on Sunday evening.

It has been a testing few years for our visitors following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and whilst they finished 4th last season they go through stages where they look far from convincing and I think it is fair to say that it looks the same this season.

Despite two wins and a draw from their three Premier league games they look a shadow of their former selves and there is a belief that we can go into Sunday's game and get another win under our belt and ensure that we go into the international break with an unbeaten record and above them.

Garry Monk believes that they will come to Swansea looking to avenge that double of last season and he said "Sir Alex Ferguson's legacy was unbelievable. Thanks to him, we are facing one of the biggest clubs in the world. But we relish that challenge.

"We can’t have fear. We have done well against other big clubs.

"My players are now established Premier League players. Before there was a bit of awe but now that's not the case."
