No Januzaj For Man Utd

Louis Van Gaal has admitted that he will be without Adnan Januzaj when Manchester United visit the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon after picking up an injury in midweek as they qualified for the Champions League.

Their 4-0 win over Bruges in midweek took them into the group stages of the Champions League with a hat trick from Wayne Rooney and a goal from Ander Herrera.

And it is Herrera that is likely to benefit from the absence of Januzaj having played in his role in midweek and scoring the fourth goal to seal a very comfortable win.

Louis Van Gaal though was giving nothing away on his team selection but did confirm the absence of Januzaj “Adnan Januzaj was injured and because of that he was out of the team. He shall not play against Swansea" he told the press.

Van Gaal does have the luxury of being able to select Marouane Fellaini for the first time in the Premier League this season after he served his three match suspension earned at the end of last season and he could also feature against the Swans and we know that he has played well at the Liberty before although that was in his Everton days.

Van Gaal's comments on Herrera were “I started my campaign this year with Herrera on the bench so I had a theoretical scheme in my head that he could play as a 10, and he did well against Club Brugge

“But in the second half it was easier for us to play.”

That does tend to suggest that he may not get the nod on Sunday but let's wait and see.
