For many Swansea supporters of a certain generation the Vetch Field always will be our home and now, thanks to plans by Gwalia housing for up to 30 people it possibly could be again.

According to the BBC Plans for up to 30 one-bedroom sheltered housing apartments have been drawn up for Swansea City FC's former Vetch Field home.

The Swans left the Vetch in 2005 after more than 90 years at the ground and moved to the Liberty Stadium. Since that move it has pretty much been nothing but success for the club with two promotions and five years in the Premier League as well as wins over some of the biggest clubs both at home and in Europe.

There are though plenty of Swans fans who miss the Vetch and would love to see a return to the days where terraces prevailed and the biggest challenge was evading the streams of liquid that came out of the toilets on a more than frequent basis.

The BBC article continued Gwalia Housing is behind the plans which have been submitted to Swansea council and forms part of the Vetch Masterplan.

It would be built off William Street where the turnstiles and part of the old North Bank once stood.

The Vetch master plan was unveiled in 2014 and included these houses, care home or flats, and a shared community facility and an extension of the Vetch veg project.
