Swansea City v Manchester United - Match Preview
Sunday, 30th Aug 2015 07:30 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

The Swans will this afternoon head off in search of a third consecutive victory over Manchester United and the three points that will lift us into the Champions League places heading into the first international break of the season.

Such is the quality of our start to the season we could end today in the top four and with an unbeaten start to the season that has also seen us progress to the Third Round of the Capital One Cup.

Last season of course we completed a historic double over Manchester United thanks to a 2-1 win at Old Trafford last August followed up by a win at the Liberty by the same scoreline.

Manchester United for their part are also unbeaten this season and have progressed themselves in the cup but for them it was into the group stages of the Champions League which they reached this week thanks to a Wayne Rooney hat-trick in Bruges.

There should be a record breaking crowd at the Liberty as well with over 21,000 expected for the first time for a sporting event creating one of the best atmospheres we can make with the Sky TV cameras watching on.

In the eyes of some the Swans are favourites for the game as well which shows you just how much we have progressed in recent years but we know it will be tough as Man Utd will come down here looking to prove a point after those two defeats last season.

There is every chance that the Swans could continue that form against our visitors but we will need to be at our best to do that but on the evidence of the three league games to boot we can very much do that.

I like a Sunday 4pm kick off - back in the days when Sky showed just one game a weekend it was the traditional time for the live fixture and we have some good records in them too so let's hope we can produce another performance today and get another three points.

Team News

The temptation surely has to be to keep the same side that has started the last two games. The Swans have looked good in both those games but Ki is back to fitness again and Gylfi is out of form so that could mean that he drops to the bench with Ki coming into the midfield.

It is hard to see any other changes in the side but we know that Garry is never afraid to make a change if he thinks it is the right thing to do to get a result but I think we will line up as below

Score Prediction

This one really is a hard one to call. Both sides have been unbeaten this season but if truth be told then the Swans have looked far more convincing in the league games but the 4-0 win for them in midweek will boost their confidence plenty.

There are people seeing us as favourites for this game which still seems a little mad but we have to make sure we are not over confident or go into the game believing that we have it won.

I don't think we will think like that but I do have a feeling that we will win 3-1 so there's my call for the game
