Fabianski Praise For Defensive Unit

Lukasz Fabianski kept his second clean sheet of the season today as the Swans drew 0-0 with Everton at the Liberty in an entertaining encounter that had plenty of goalmouth action but very few shots on target.

Both sides had the chance to secure the three points although it was the defensive display of the Swans that probably won the day in the second half as Everton were unable to turn some of their chances into the win that they may feel that they deserved

But the Swans also had their chances in the game to secure a third successive league win at the Liberty but retained their unbeaten record in the process.

It was a marked improvement in performance from the one that we saw last week against Watford which was what we asked for in the week and that would have been equally pleasing for the big pole who made one great save in the first half in particular.

“It’s always nice to keep a clean sheet,” said Fabianski.

“We did well as a defensive unit — they had chances but we put our bodies on the line.
Ash and Tayls made some key blocks while Federico and Kyle did very well.

“We wanted to give something back to the fans after losing last week at Watford.

“In the first half we had periods where we struggled, but in the second half it was the Swansea we wanted to see.

“It was a really good week on the training pitch where we worked on different aspects of our game, and we could see bits and pieces of that good work today."
