Goals Will Come For Swans Says Garry
Saturday, 26th Sep 2015 06:27 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

If the Swans grab a goal at Southampton this afternoon then it will be their first goal since Bafetimbi Gomis scored the winner against Manchester United at the Liberty on August 30th.

The Swans have seven Premier League goals to date this season and all of them have been scored by either Gomis or Andre Ayew who have four and three each respectively.

Nobody else in a Swans shirt has found the back of the net for the Swans in the league this season and goals are hard to come by at the moment with the second string missing a hatful of chances in midweek against Hull as we exited the Capital One Cup.

It is not something though that is concerning Garry Monk who believes that the goals will come for his side and he points out the fact that his players have had chances so the goals will come.

“Look at the other players – they’ve already had chances,” says the Swansea manager.

“Gylfi has been unlucky not to have three or four, Jonjo could have scored and Jeff hit the post against Newcastle, but it’s panned how it has.

“I understand why the question is being asked because the fact is only Bafe and Andre have scored, but there are guys who could have easily had goals.

“The bottom line is, of course, I would love all the team to be scoring, but as long as someone is and we are in positions to win games, that’s the most important thing.

“Bafe and Andre are not going to score every week and somebody else will have to join in, but it will happen – that’s football.

“There’s plenty who have got goals in them. We’ve had set-pieces that should have gone in, and there’s been some good defending and bad luck along the way.

“Gylfi could have had a few, Wayne should have had a few and there are others.

“You can talk about what ifs and they have been good chances.

“But the bottom line is we’re doing all right and I’m sure you’ll see more and more scorers through the season.”
