QPR And Chelsea Strikers Linked With Swans Move

The January transfer window is here and well and truly underway as the Sunday papers report that the Swans are interested in moves for both Charlie Austin and Patrick Bamford as we look to balance our squad for the battle that will present itself in the second half of the season.

Austin was one of the sensations of last season in the Premier League finding the net on many occasions in QPR's unsuccessful battle against relegation. He was linked heavily with a move to the Premier League back in the summer but nothing materialised and he remained at QPR where his contract will expire this summer,

Bamford had a great season on loan from Chelsea last season at Middlesbrough but cut short a loan spell with Crystal Palace after we drew 0-0 there last Monday. He claimed that the lack of gametime was not helping him and he returned to Chelsea where he was almost immediately linked with a move back away from the club.

The Swans have also been linked with a move for another Chelsea striker in Loic Remy whom we were linked with again back in the summer.

Being linked with strikers is almost natural at the moment given that our side has scored just 17 goals in the 20 Premier League games to date and with Gomis not firing on all cylinders and Eder yet to open his Premier League account it is a position where we desperately need strengthening.

Of the three being linked then Austin would be my personal choice but I suspect that money may come into play on that particular move and I would therefore say that Remy is potentially the most likely.

Time will tell
