Guidolin Happy With Swans Win

Francesco Guidolin was understandably a happy man after watching his side secure an opening day win thanks to Leroy Fer's late winner at Burnley which saw the Swans heading back to South Wales with all 3 points in the bag.

Fer struck after Tom Heaton could only parry a Fernando Llorente header to net the only goal of an interesting encounter at Turf Moor.

It spoiled the return to the Premier League of the home team but as you would guess that was not something that the boss was thinking about after the game as he reflected on the 90 minutes that he had just watched

“Everyone in our group is very happy because we have won a difficult game at a difficult ground against a good team,” Guidolin said.

“This is the first time for Burnley this year in the Premier League and the atmosphere was very, very strong, but we played a good game and I am proud of my players.

“I am happy because I think this will be a difficult ground for all teams in the Premier League.”

The reality of the game was that both sides had chances to secure the points but with Hull next up at the Liberty then we have a real chance to get a maximum point start to the season which would be a massive boost
