The swans kicked off their mid season training camp with a 2-1 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle Park in Edinburgh early this afternoon. Goals from Joel Piroe and Jay Fulton ensured the win in what was a feisty and competitive game.

Russell Martin gave a number of fringe players a game after sixty minutes with Andy Fisher, Cameron Congreve, Fin Stevens, Nathanael Ogbeta, Liam Cullen, Ben Lloyd, Azeem Abdulai and Harry Jones all getting on the pitch. In fact it was a near different team for the last half an hour.

Speaking after the game assistant to Russell Martin, Matt Gill said. "It was very pleasing. The boys have had a bit of time off since the Huddersfield game, and we had a week of training last week before travelling up on Monday. It was a really good exercise for us, a good work-out and an opportunity to build the minutes up before we restart. There were really good performances in there too, although there is plenty of stuff still to work on. I think it is easy to take for granted how long travelling days can be, so for the lads to apply for them as they did is great, although we knew they would because of the attitude they bring every day. It was great to give the young boys some minutes in a great setting, to continue the work the lads had put in during the first hour. We felt we needed to break this period up a little bit, we have come back together and this is an opportunity to come away together to work, to spend time together and build towards the restart of the Championship."
