Everything Russell Martin said after the 1-1 draw away at Hull City
Saturday, 29th Apr 2023 18:37 by Swansea Independent

It was a lethargic Swansea at times today at the MKM Stadium on Humberside. With the Swans needing a win and Hull City safe you would have expected some more effort from the visitors. Especially with a slight play of opportunity. However, it wasn’t meant to be and the flowing football of late was missing for large parts of the game.

The Swans went one down early on when Andy Fisher failed to control a deflected cross off Ben Cabango, but the Swans played their way back into the game with a superb effort from Luke Cundle.

Russell Martin responded quickly after the game before the team coach departed back to west Wales. “I thought it was a good game between two really good teams who play in a really good style. I enjoyed the game,” he said. There was a lot of high quality play, I really like what Liam Rosenior is doing here, and they have had really good home form. They had one shot on target and we conceded from it, but I really liked the performance after the first 20 minutes when we just did not have enough energy or aggression out of possession. We tried to force things a bit and that was where their goal came from and we were not as front foot and aggressive as we needed to be.
