Liam Walsh : ‘He’s broken down’ Swans midfielder out again
Friday, 4th Aug 2023 07:00 by Swansea Independent

Liam Walsh who has only played a handful games for Swansea City over two seasons is again injured after what is being described as a ‘new’calf injury.

Swans head coach Michael Duff explained yesterday that the highly regarded midfielder was again suffering from injury. “Walsh has broken down, we’ve not seen him, he felt his calf, in fact he felt a different part of his calf so I think he’s out for another four or five weeks”

We covered Liam Walsh and his time at Swansea recently in a special feature including PFA risk assessments and the details surrounding long term injuries.

That’s here —> ⚽️ Liam Walsh Injury crisis

It’s a great shame for Liam who seemingly was making some progress after his recent injuries. You can only feel for the player but when does this continued injury issue become a cross roads and certain decisions to be made by the Swans ? In two years he has played just twelve league games for the Swansea City and in total just ninety five games as a professional. In eight championship seasons the most games he has played is nine for Bristol City.

It was a huge gamble bringing him to Swansea in the first place and now it seems that gamble hasn’t paid off. Duff continued, “That’s a disappointing one for him, obviously he’s had a stop start since he has been here, but, there’s not a lot we can do about it it, so until he’s ready he will be with the medics and then we will integrate him when we can”

We don’t expect to see Liam Walsh in any shape or form now until the end of September when he will have celebrated his twenty sixth birthday.
