The Kristian Pedersen situation that reveals so much more
Saturday, 2nd Dec 2023 08:00 by Liam Walters, @Cornish67David & Keith Haynes

Swans left back Kristian Pedersen last played for the club on the 24th October 2023. That was the home loss to Watford. We have had a look on his current situation, especially when (at last) he was asked as to his whereabouts yesterday, and the response was rather tentative to say the least from Swans head coach Michael Duff.

But it was an honest and truthful response.

Kristian was on the bench for the next two games, and since then the questions have remained. Where is he ? Open source documentation does not refer to him being injured and searches via the likes of transfermkt.com ( yes that is correct ) state he isn’t in the squad. That obviously fles in the face of what Duff has stated, and adds mystery to the clubs official line that he is injured. Now, ok he did have three games out with a slight groin strain for three weeks at the end of September and middle of October, he then returned for the Leicester City game at the Swansea.com. A two week recovery from the injury, and then a week back in training.

We aren’t talking with our very trusted sources within the club just now as the hierarchy are currently trying to find out who they are. All staff have been told not to talk to this website, however that isn’t happening. And it never will happen. So, we have looked in to the reasoning for Pedersen’s exclusion elsewhere. Especially as it isn’t featured in very reliable sites on and two official EFL outlets.

So, we are a bit confused. Not hard we know.

We currently feel Michael Duff is under some restrictions from the current regime, and his interviews, albeit very positive, are tinged with some cautious wording. No pre match whatsoever for the Leeds game in midweek didn’t go unnoticed. Of course the current regime are feeling the pressure, meetings are being held and the last thing they want is news of a player falling out with his new club. And we are not stating that either. Now, of course we wouldn’t call Duff out on that, he is in a very stressful situation and extra pressure being placed on him to tow a particular party line doesn’t help him prepare properly for games.

That’s an issue.

In general we support Duff entirely, there’s no other way to be, we have Swans fans connected to this site who are in their early years of watching the Swans, and in one case seventy two years of doing so. We support Swansea City - and our owner and editor attended his first match in 1968. He has been here before, with other ownerships who played hardball. And where are they now ?

Have a look at Michael Duff’s responses regards Kristian Pedersen. He seems very positive.

For us he is absolutely telling the truth about Kristian working with the physio’s of late. We know that first hand. However, why has he not been mentioned in any injury news in the last month ? Not a whisper. It’s hardly a tactical thing to not mention his injury. It all smacks of the old cloak and dagger theory, especially when revelations by the head coach about off the field issues that have been affecting him. Harrison Ashby has been highlighted that he has returned to his club due to a particularly nasty hamstring pull. Updates on every other player are more than regular. But until today when Duff was specifically asked the question did we get some insight in to a first team player and his absence for around a month.

These days it’s more questions raised from the answers given, more suspicion too, which the fans are slowly getting tired of. The club has to see that they are falling out of favour with the real fans. Why make everything a secret ? You want to build relationships with the real fans ? Then you have to realise who holds the keys. Money isn’t everything.

And we wish Kristian the very best recovering from his latest injury.
