Everything Russell Martin said post Blackpool - Plus match stats !
Thursday, 16th Feb 2023 08:00 by Swansea Independent

Swansea City 2 Blackpool 1: Three points in the bag for the Swans but a very low Russell Martin responds and even though his team wins tonight, that January window just won’t be forgotten. Seven players under twenty three and the first of eight games returns three points. The youngest team to play in the championship tonight on reflection did exactly what was asked of them.

It wasn’t pretty and we have to say it could have been a far better score line for Swansea City. With Blackpool going down to ten men in the second half with a depleted team they showed some real spirit. The Seasiders hit the post, the Swans hit the post and the Blackpool keeper pulled off some great saves.

No matter how it’s analysed, or how it is seen in the cold light of day, it’s three points, and it’s a long awaited victory.
