Horses for courses I suppose - I've a mate in Suffolk who virtually lives by it. Me? can't abide it.

Well deserved from Lando...how he turned himself around and found what it takes to be a champion is really impressive. British champion and a thoroughly decent humble bloke.
I have really enjoyed this year and always thought it would go to the last race, but did not think Max would be in with a shout...
Next year is a lottery, but reckon Merc and Maclaren will be up there, think Red Bull may fall back a bit with their new engine...hoping Ferrari will get it together (can dream) as would really like to see a smile on Lewis's face...

Nice to have a drivers championship that went down to the wire. In the end the McClarens did what they had to do to get the job done. Congratulations to Lando. He did well to regain his form mid-season and ultimately pip Verstappen and Piastri. If Ferrari and Mercedes can develop competitive cars then next season could be interesting.

Not much to say but the obvious - Verstappen is miles and miles away the best on the grid and had no right being so close to the McLareen cars.

One of the weakest F1 champions since Keke in the 70s.

Verstappen is probably the quickest but he does have an advantage on being a one-man team. Everything is set up for him at Red Bull especially the way the car is built, which is why ever other driver struggles in the 2nd car.

Glad Mclaren won both championships as it's rare that a team successfully manages to allow both their drivers a shot at the title. If they had nominated a number 1 driver earlier in the season, they would have wrapped up the drivers title a lot sooner.

Aston Martin next season - You heard it here first

Anything Adrian Newey touches turns to gold and I genuinely think him and Alonso still have another title in them - Plus Stroll snr's money

Having an uncompetitive second car doesn’t help Verstappen as it means he has nobody to take points off competitors. It’s why Red Bull tried to get Norris a few years ago to be his wing man.

As Newey and Wache have both said, they don’t build a car for Verstappen, they build a car to go as fast as possible which often means a car that’s hard to drive and harder to balance. Verstappen is just an alien in his ability to drive around issues.

The flip side of that is that it also doesn't allow the driver to take points off of him, assuming that anyone in the same car could. If Mclaren had say Perez as their No. 2 Norris would have been celebrating the championship from the summer break.

I think historically Red Bull have been pretty ruthless with the second driver as well. Sending them out on alternative tires to get info to inform Max's strategy. Pitting the second driver to lose them points in order for them to take fastest lap points from Max's rivals. It's felt at times his championship was more important then the constructors, which tends to be the other way around as you get more money from that. But Red Bull are masters of strategy as they've shown numerous times and sometimes that strategy needs Max to make stuff work that a lot of other drivers wouldn't manage.

Overall, pleased Norris won.

Whilst I would agree that on paper Verstappen is the better driver, Norris is a worthy champion this season.

Max had the benefit of experience on his side. Having previously won 5 world titles, he knows what it takes to get the job done. By comparison, Lando was learning on the job. His ability to quickly learn from his mistakes and make the necessary adjustments stood out for me.

In addition, Verstappen effectively operates in a 1-driver team which pretty much dedicates its resources and energy to him. His compatriot Tsunoda is little more than a glorified test driver and plays a very obvious second fiddle to Max. By contrast Norris' teammate, Piastri, has equal standing at McClaren and was very much in the title race himself. Indeed, at one point in the season Oscar led the championship and looked a better bet for the title than Lando.

Given the above, I would argue that Lando Norris did very well to hold it together and eke out a well deserved F1 Drivers Championship win. Let's be proud of our high achievers instead of denigrating their accomplishments.

Sadly - People get off on knocking our champions

Not since Prost/Senna have 2 teammates had equal status (although Prost would have you believe otherwise) and again not since those 2 have teammates been fighting for the trophy at the last race.

I respect McClaren for the minimum team orders and never leaned towards either driver. Oscar will have his day of that I am sure of, but for now, I'm with you, lets enjoy Lando's moment of glory

Keke Rosberg didn’t win an F1 Championship in the 70s.

I’m sure I read that Bobby Z won it in 89?
