 | Your Report | Southampton v West Bromwich Albion Your Report added by TimSaint at 12:51:44 Classic game of 2 halves. Why we sat back and invited pressure AGAIN in the 2nd half, is beyond me. We never learn and nearly came unstuck like at Millwall. We got lucky again, just like v Birmingham. We have 3 big CBs who can't win a header, especially from corners and a keeper who doesn't come off his line and command his 6 yard box, let alone his 18 yard box. Anyway, a win is a win and I would have taken it before KO, so let's take the 3 points and move on. |
 | Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Birmingham City Your Report added by Geoff78 at 10:37:45 We deserve nice things... sometimes! Great all round performance. We should have put the game to bed long before their equaliser, but in spite of dominating we didn't test their keeper enough. Best chance was probably Koni's which he put wide from a tight angle. I haven't seen us control the midfield so well, even though they had the possession, for a long time. Madsen and Varane were magnificent well supported by Smyth and Saito, with a special mention for Mbengue, who had his best game at right back. Hard to pick a MotM - possibly give it to Jimmy who is getting back to his best. |
 | Your Report | Southampton v West Bromwich Albion Your Report added by WestSussexSaint at 23:02:49 Tonda needs to rethink his half time team talk as it definitely isn’t working. I would like to see the team be back on the front foot for at least the first 15 mins of the second half rather than trying to game manage directly from half time. Reports will say that West Brom have a spirited fight back but they weren’t that great and the opportunities were largely due to Saints switching off and being careless in their own half. That said, what a first half. Fantastic incisive attack play and Armstrong certainly has found his scoring boots again. Just wish we could see some of that in the second half. |
 | Your Report | Millwall v Southampton Your Report added by Boris1977 at 13:37:38 Muted performance by saints but energetic from Millwall who as others have said here deserved the win. Bit of a reality check after the past few wonderful weeks but the club have come a long way under tonda. COYRs |
 | Your Report | Millwall v Southampton Your Report added by TimSaint at 02:43:10 Fvck knows where they got 7 minutes injury time from. There were what, 7 or 8 subs and no trainers / medics on the pitch. I had hoped the 7 minutes would have given us chance to go on and win it Too much f@nnying around at the back Good in places Generally though, 2nd best in every aspect. A bit too lightweight. Thought we had rescued a point, until all that injury time and the defensive errors. |
 | Your Report | Norwich City v Queens Park Rangers Your Report added by Geoff78 at 22:45:21 Surprised Stephan went with the same team, bar Nardi. I'd have thought 2 or 3 needed a rest. Madsen hasn't been at his best in recent games and Cook often shows his age. On the other hand Burrell seems to just keep going. And hasn't Morgan done enough in a couple of sub appearances too deserve a start? The second Norwich goal was a blatant foul, but our defence looks vulnerable. There's not much evidence of positive input fr.om Steve Bould. Maybe we were tired after the long trip and late return on Wednesday, but we just didn't cover the spaces in midfield and far too often Norwich could easily pass through us. But 6 points in a 3 game week is a good return. |
 | Your Report | Millwall v Southampton Your Report added by davidargyll at 20:22:17 I reckon that for the players this was almost the best result insofar it was a wakeup call. Clearly winning, or at least drawing, would have been preferred but to me, what it showed was what is required just to do well in the Championship, let alone the PL We were good, at times very good, but ultimately the team with the greater desire won. And that really is what the whole squad needs to take home tonight: you can play well and have all the luck in the world but if you want to get promoted winning is all about never, ever, giving up… |
