Tyler Morris v Brum...
at 12:35 11 Dec 2025

I fear we may have gotten into his blood a little like a bad venereal disease.

He seems to love the club. Would love him to stay on comms for a long time, it's always a pleasure listening to him and Sints!

What are people’s thoughts on the Club pulling out all the stops in January ?
at 12:31 11 Dec 2025

I think we should continue along the path of making some sales, reinvesting and securing the club's future. I'm not sure the current squad, even with some work, would last long in the PL. I think instead, we should grow and develop some of these players.

On recent form, I hope the club have contingency plans for players like Madsen, Kone, Burrell and Dunne, because I would be surprised if we don't have some teams sniffing in January.

I'm with you. I'm with Clive that I prefer my professional goalies to be... professional.

I think Dembelé might be in the position that we've seen Chair in a few times - so desperate to make things happen that he runs into trouble over and over.

Chair came through these times, Dembelé will too. He has the quality, just needs some confidence and a bit of coaching.

When do the sirens let go? I'm 3 times through the match report just this morning, and approaching a mid-century number of views of the goal.

Got to ride this high until at least Saturday, I suppose...

Never being in the country to go to LR really stings on days like this, but reports like this make it a little easier

I was only watching it on TV but it took me ages to calm down enough to go to sleep. My partner had already gone to bed so had to celebrate silently with the cat, who's never looked more confused in his life

I agree that I think he got the squad wrong and should've rotated more.

It also has to be noted that he was often slagged by people who had spent the previous weeks arguing that he should play the same squad more often and not rotate - can't win with some.

Strongly agree about RND (he was absolutely brilliant) and Burrell needing rest (I dread to think about him getting injured), but I'm not sure about Dembelé. He's looked best to me imo in that 10 role behind the main striker where he can get the ball often and isn't relied upon defensively.

If we use him to replace Burrell then I think we lose a lot of the press that has made us so dangerous recently. I'm not sure we have a player who can fill that role tbh, which makes me worried that we'll burn out Burrell. Maybe Kolli could've gone in there but he's injured again.

I've seen the Dunne at RB idea mentioned a few times since the game and I'm not certain about it. While Morgan definitely struggled there, I'm not certain how much better Dunne would've been. Dunne has been great at CB because it has left him less exposed for pace - up against the pace of Gray we might have seen him a little exposed like he was earlier in the season. Mbengue fits better out there because he is both strong and pacey.

Morgan is also not the fastest, but I'm not certain it was an awful decision - not sure how many choices Stephan has. I guess we'll never know since it didn't happen.

We need an RB in January, as we've been saying for years now.

I think it's some of one and some of another. We definitely have a stronger squad this season, but I like how Stephan has adapted to our squad while still playing aggressively. Under Cifuentes (who I liked a lot - I was seething at the way his leaving was handled) I think were either wide open and weak or stodgy and solid. Stephan seems to have squared that circle a little more.

Good lord, so many thoughts from last night. We were brilliant back to front in my eyes, with our only mistake being an inability to put the game away earlier.

Mbengue and Norrington-Davies were brilliant on both flanks. A lot has been said about Mbengue yesterday (and it was deserved), but RND has been a really solid signing. If we can keep him fit then I wouldn't be too sad about keeping him in the summer, though I imagine we'll have other options.

Dunne was dominant at CB for his best game this season by a country mile. They basically didn't have a sniff until that last gasp. Cook was very solid too, alongside, and showed that he's not quite done yet.

Madsen and Varane were the cream of the show, last night, though. Wow. Defensively dominant with creativity (Madsen) and endless running (Varane), these two are really starting to show why Stephan plays them together every week. I love Field and Hayden but last night it showed why they're not getting minutes. I hope it inspires Field and Hayden to push on for a spot.

In the forward ranks we weren't as clinical as usual, though all 4 put in a stint with endless running. We pressed so hard from the front that Brum simply couldn't handle it, and it should have led to more goals than we ended up with. Kone's miss was a bit of a sitter but it comes at an awkward angle. Those will go in in future though, he's just in a rough patch. Same for Dembelé, who shows flashes of really good play - a little more confidence and it'll start coming together. Smyth ran his legs off, and Saito beat his man for a beautiful cross.

All in all it was a wonderful performance. Even Nardi was solid with a good save from that flukey corner, though he really didn't have much to do all night.

My biggest takeaway, however, is the attitude at the end. After the goal went in, I thought "Here we go again, predictable QPR. We're going to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory AGAIN". Yet what was different this time was a desire to win. I think it years past we would've slumped to the 1-1 without a fight, as heads went down and the effort levels dissipated. But instead we went straight up the other end to try and score - when Morgan got the ball, I reckon we must have had 8/9 players in the box. That belief was completely new and I. Love. It. Inject it into my carotid and let me drift away.

That's down to Stephan. It's been ropey at times this season so far but I'm starting to really see what Stephan wants this team to be and I like it very very much. More please.

Edit: Didn't even mention Morgan! To come on, get rinsed and then score like that... He's going to be special, isn't he? Gaffer said as much in the post-match.

Lovely to see Saito take on and beat a man for a cross like that. He's looked a little low on confidence recently so it'll do him a world of good

Tbf, given that we were all expected to believe that Watford were championship contenders under Ainsworth, I think a little skepticism is warranted from time to time
