Only left early once..... away at Highbury and 3-0 down, then Bannister scored right at the end. Didn't really change the outcome but would have been nice to have had a moment of joy in an otherwise crap game.
If I manage to go, my route would be; Waterloo, Jubilee line to Canary Wharf then DLR to Pudding Bowl Lane (or whatever it's called). That's seems closest to the ground for me?
We have a West Ham ST'er at work and even he says it's a shocking ground to get to/from and an appalling view. But hey, it's what the fans wanted because they harped on about the Boleyn Ground being too small for them 'cos they're so massive, innit.
100%. Though hydration is of course important but they've now managed to shoehorn in the ad breaks. Someone somewhere is getting a nice bonus for coming up with that.
Despite being in the PL and the home team, I think the pressure will be on them as they’ll be expected to win. If we show any respect early on then we’re as good as done.
Full strength team and go full on at them from the off.
It's going to an absolute w@nkfest. Infantino slobbering all over Trump and giving him a 'peace' award (WTF does FIFA have to do with peace.... football/sport & politics/religion shouldn't mix but has sadly become totally ingrained now) because they all absolutely have to pander to the man-child.
Oh good, a discussion about our own stadium situation. Not had one of those before.......
(yes, I'm being facetious! All questions have been covered at some point or other, unless there is any new information we're just going around in circles)
Was at my son’s football training this morning and was asked if we had a good chance at Norwich considering their poor form. “No chance. No home wins, can’t score and a club is visiting them that they have a great home record against. Nailed on home win.”
"Academies sucking up players from 6 years old, fake academies promising they can get your kids into real academies ......."
I was talking about this with one of the other parents just this week. He (and me) is getting sick of having it rammed down our throats to join the local 'Star Player' club. "It'll be really good for their development blah blah blah". Fk off, they're kids. It's just meant to be fun on a weekend.
Of course, it's just a money making scheme at £70+ a month (plus probably all sorts of extra costs on top) and these kids all think they're going to be the next Messi/Ronaldo and all swank around in their club branded duvet-coats like they're the dogs bollox when in a few years time they'll be told they're not good enough and "thanks for the £thousands your parents have just spent".
Possibly an age thing but it's diminishing for me as well. it's completely over-saturated, over-hyped, over-expensive and so on and with so much money at stake it feels to me the authorities are so schit scared of making a mistake and the whole VAR thing is just becoming a farce. It's as though they will do anything they possibly can NOT to award a goal (you know, the very object of the game) because giving a goal that shouldn't have been is more rife for complaint than not giving a goal that should be given.
I enjoy more watching my sons youth football, it's certainly more honest...for now.
Sorry but no one, and I mean no one, deserves to be 'earning' the sort of monies they get paid for kicking a bit of leather around. Yes, it's a short career (blah blah blah) but most normal people probably earn around £1.5m in their lifetime (and that's just based on average salary) yet you have the average PL footballer getting paid that in 6 months. Even as you go down the Leagues they'll still get paid £1.5m a lot, lot quicker than most of us mere mortals.
Every time there's a new TV deal the extra income is a great opportunity to be used to make tickets, merchandise, catering, tv subscriptions etc all more affordable but no, it just means it gets spent on giving a player yet more money they don't need as well as then increasing all the aforementioned prices even more so we just stand still.
Apart from “…..some of the crowd are on the pitch”, David Platt v Belgium, Beckham v Greece, Munich 5-1, Holland 4-1 and others i’m sure, but no, we’ve never had moments like that
I was chuffed to bits for them but fk me, we really do live rent free in their heads. Guys…. just focus on yourselves and don’t get wrapped up in what others are doing, makes you look petty. They spend more time desperate for us to lose. The last two Euro’s must have been agony for them.
As obvious as night following day. As others have said, it's "buy diesel" Mk II.
Just proves it's fk all to do with lowering congestion (i.e. if everyone paid the fee there would still be the same amount of vehicles/congestion in London) or reducing pollution, it's a cash-cow.
Same with online TV subscriptions. I pay per month for the stuff such as Amazon Prime etc. They add adverts (extra income) then you have to now pay extra on top of the monthly subscription if you want it to be 'ad free'. It would be like having to pay a licence fee to ITV.
Fk right off, we're getting fleeced left, right & centre.
