.... and yet we are still nowhere nearer to hearing about Manchester City's 115 charges.

I know there's a lot to go through blah blah blah but surely it should have all been sorted out by now. It was three years ago tomorrow that "the Premier League referred a number of alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules by Manchester City Football Club to a Commission under Premier League Rule W.3.4.".

I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all punishment. The rules chopped & changed so many times over the years it all down to when the rules were broken and what punishment is suitable for there and then.

Reading got a points deduction and then another one a few months later and they were then effectively relegated.
I don't know the in's & outs of Leicester's situation but who knows, maybe there's more to come?

One place above the relegation zone on GD.

Would quite like to see them go down.
Another club deemed to be 'plucky' when they won things but actually broke all sorts of rules all over the place in terms of their new stadium, getting promoted to the PL and so on.

Coventryola.

All that possession but two shots on target. First in the 53rd minute and the second in injury time which by all accounts didn’t trouble Walsh at all but still counted as on target.

Yet we had, with 37% possession, 8 on target yield 2 goals and 6 goalkeeper saves so we’re far more effective on the ball.

If you have to spend all your time looking at multitudes of signs rather than focusing on driving, something is wrong.

This is in no way condoning speeding BTW.

dovetailing a few points from above...... I did a zoom speed awareness course last December, 37 in a 30mph zone that was a road feeding onto a dual-carriageway, so I was speeding up to match the speed of the carriageway, as you're meant to do) and it was demonstrated that you simply do not save any time if you speed, especially in a town/city. If you've left your leaving place late, you're already late. No amount of 'making up time' will work, unless you want extra points on your licence, have an accident etc.

My route into work also crosses the boundaries of a few London Boroughs and it feels like I'm driving like an accordion rather than in a smoother manner due to the constant 40,30,20,30,20,30,20 changes in speed limits. I'm so focused on looking out for what speed limit I'm in to not speed that it's distracting me from focusing on driving. Surely that's not safe?
I could just drive at 20 all the way but being on a motorbike I would get people tailgating me or trying to barge past.

It's not just about speeding too, it's about driving considerately. Unless I'm making this up, I'm sure many years ago on one of the motoring tv shows (Fifth Gear maybe?) they did a test with two professional drivers both leaving Birmingham and taking the same route to a destination in Cornwall.
One driver had to, within the law and all safety aspects etc, get to his destination as quickly as possible using every trick he could (lane changing, driving right on the speed limit etc) and the other driver just to get there in a more relaxed manner.
Over a 3 hour drive, the first driver got there 10 minutes sooner but was mentally knackered and probably at more risk of an accident etc whereas the other driver arrived more calm and relaxed. 10 minutes, that's all it takes to be safe.

At some point though something has to be done about pedestrians & cyclists doing all the things we know they do that they seem to get away with. I understand it's hard to police but the sheer amount of problems they cause has to change. Drive down Pancras Road in-between St Pancras & Kings Cross and see how many people you have to avoid hitting in what is just a few hundred yards.

Oh how we (rightly) laughed about the Winston Bogarde situation at Chelsea many years ago. Modern football is now full of them but serves the clubs right for dishing out stupid contracts with massive lengths (to get around amortisation) on even more stupid amounts.

I see quite often people pulling out of a side road knowing full well the person on the main road has right of way but they hope you'll let them go because they've already pulled out that far. I don't and I don't care, fk 'em.

Makes sense and I guess why they would not want to go out on loan as having to survive on around £200k-£250k per week must be quite tough.

If he was to go out on loan would he not still be paid the same amount anyway? How it's split is between the parent club and loaning club I'd have thought.

On my motorbike 15 mile commute from the leafy 'burbs of TW2 to the office in Kings Cross there was a two year period (pre-covid/WFH so it was a 5 days a week journey) where my route had a minimum of one traffic-light controlled roadworks but probably averaged 2-3. IIRC I think the most at one point was seven during a two week period. That's one every couple of miles.

I do the same journey once/twice a week now and there are still road works, burst water etc but because it's a now less frequent journey I've kind of become a bit ambivalent but if I had to go back to 5 days a week it would boil my pi$$.

Not sure I'd be happy getting the tin-tack for not being able to motive players provided to me who clearly have no interest in being motivated, and we've had a few.

But I guess that's just how it is and is excepted 9again, nice pay-off cushions the blow).

I always wondered this too.

When you the archetypal old school Manager, you effectively live by the sword and die by the sword. Fair enough.

However, if you're being employed as a coach and there's a whole team of people with tablets, spreadsheets, etc etc and they are providing you with the players (players you may not want) then seems a bit odd that you solely get the chop when it all goes south. All these background people seem to still be employed and repeat the same with the next Coach.

I can only think of the lucrative pay-off makes up for this otherwise who'd accept it?
