He knows what he's doing. He's managing the team to a series of wins and his ultimate goal is to get us promoted, wheher we win games 4-3 or 6-0. He subs key players as early as he feels he can get away with it, with the next game in mind. With his style of play, we are far more likely to win 3-2 than 1-0. Yes, it makes fans feel nervous sometimes, but in the end it will be worth it.
As long as we keep winning and get promoted, he is right. |

Saints win, Pompey lose again! What fun it will be if we get promoted and they get relegated in the same season. It will certainly be one of the most memorable seasons in South Coast football history. |

I doubt that any of us know better than Tonda Eckert. I certainly don't, so whoever he chooses should be the captain.
I think the reason why certain posters on here were so angry after we won games recently was because it wasn't their choice of manager or the team selection they wanted, so they were hoping we'd lose. It's probably best not to give them another excuse to moan when we win.
There are 1 or 2 players in our squad I never want to see play for Saints again, but if Tonda Eckert picks them and we win then he's right and I'm wrong, and I'm happy with that. Saints winning is what matters. [Post edited 9 Dec 14:41]

It's been a remarkable turnaround under Eckert. Coventry and Ipswich are the only teams left that have scored more goals than us this season. |

You always felt with our last few managers that they were just trying to grind out a 1-0 win, but with Eckert we play a much more open, attacking style of football and so a 3-1 scoreline is more likely than a 1-0 one.
Incredibly, after our problems early in the season, there are now only 2 teams in the Championship (Coventry and Ipswich) who've scored more goals than us. [Post edited 7 Dec 18:10]

Yes, it's is, We haven't won a single test in Australia for 15 years. We did also win that 2010/11 series.

Great prediction, and a 3-1 win against a Birmingham team that had back-to-back 4-0 victories over Millwall and Pompey is a great result.
Watching Saints is enjoyable again. The pace and skill with which our players cut through their defence was really exciting stuff.

Bazunu made some great saves today. Birmingham had 22 shots at our goal.
We win most of our games when Bazunu plays in goal for us in the Championship, and when McCarthy plays, we usually don't, and that's a fact. Obviously, the change of manager is a major reason why we are winning, but the change of goalkeeper from McCarthy to Bazunu has certainly helped. |
