Thread | Curious comparison with 2018-19…?

Looking at this season so far, I can’t help but notice (while I should be working....) an odd comparison with the Shteeve season of 18-19.
Then, as now, our record after 19 games was W8 D4 L7. This included a 7-1 drubbing in the third game of both seasons in the Midlands. Preston were also our opening day opponents that year too.
FTR I sincerely hope any other spurious comparisons with that season end right here, right now!

Another big step...to what I don't know...
Strong battling performance - pitch looked slippery, so well done to the team. As said, contrast this performance to 7 days ago. Baffling.
Tricky fixtures now to come - a few draws would not go amiss. |

Our best batsman of the 21st Century, definitely, but not ever IMHO.

In a strange way, this could be good news for them. Basically, they’re getting the whole bin fire completely out of the way in one season so that they can start afresh on an even keel in League One next season and go again.
It contrasts to the Luton situation a few years back when they had multiple points deductions over 2 or 3 seasons (?) which meant 3 relegations.
I wouldn’t mind betting that, if they could, Wednesday won’t be appealing this. Especially because (obvs.) they get 3pts back automatically on Jan 4th.... [Post edited 1 Dec 14:57]

Close result (and mediocre performance?) in a cold northern town - but a big win.
In the context of the season - a big big win.
So much of the Oct/Nov damage is now repaired.
