I understand why Burgess is in the team as he comes with experience. But for a while his passing has been questionable. Would we risk taking him out in replacement for loan that could go back in Jan? Then be left with a player in Burgess who's confidence could be knocked more and be worse for us? Either way it's sending a message to Burgess he is not good enough. [Post edited 15 Dec 20:14]

He might get a discount on getting a new set if pearly whites.. Oh wait that's Turkey.. Either way... He clearly doesn't want to test himself again then and going down the retirement route with money then.. |

And that's the difficult thing to do. Let's put money aside for a second. Key is hired to do a job and he is failing miserably. In any business your either witch hunted by other staff members or your boss or an arm is put around you to support. This is no different in football, its just we work behind let's say a PC and he works in plain view. Not once does it give right that just because he chose to be in the public light then we get freedom to go after him. Key needs to be taken out of the team and an arm around him. You cannot risk 1 player set the tone of a business and for it to lose money and decline. He isn't alone in the team performance there are 10 other men. But good management is identifing and handling situation and if it means an arm then so be it. Whatever happens nice guy or not, we all agree Key is not up to it at present and possibly future. But hatred is and never should be tolerated. ''We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars," [Post edited 14 Dec 19:53]

Difficult one for me. Like many I have and experienced mental health. Sometimes in the moment fans lose sight that it's a person with feelings. As cruel and black hearted as this sounds, Key like many players have worked hard to get into a championship squad and we can't throw players under the bus everytime they do something wrong. But not many people in life have a say on a football club that has millions of supporters and lose alot more if results don't happen. This doesn't mean we have the right to be more cruel, but Key for his own sake needs to step back if he is not told already. And Matos in himself will only make things worse if Key continues. Its a difficult balance, fans pay and want to be entertained and have every right to pass an opinion. The issue is where does it become to much? |

Stating the obvious we have 27 games left and safety mark is around 50 points. We need roughly 9 Wins out of 27. Can we do it? |
 | Forum Reply | Burgess and Key errors hand Stoke City the points at 19:41 13 Dec 2025
Realistically we need 9 Wins. With 27 games left. I am not saying I would be shocked but that would be a massive drop off if we didn't get 9 Wins. Especially under Matos who has shown signs that he is improving the team. Individuals are letting him down. Where we get 9 Wins is questionable. Not sure if I'm more worried now saying that 😲😲 |

I'm not the biggest Cullen fan, but he did alright, today. But Widell needs to start. Again can't fault Matos, he gave a player a chance that scored for us on Tuesday. I'm not as flat today with the result as I could see we are progressing in certain areas and using an excuse, let's remember, Matos has non of his coaches and in the process of seeing who fits the character in his team. Now if Matos does not learn and Key keeps playing, Idah is chosen over Wales and he doesn't learn then he will have issues. Personally I don't think the above will be the case. Irrelevant of the illness story with Key, Matos could see we needed to put Galbraith there. Today will be a reality check for Matos. And has to learn from this |

Yes, the sub cost us the game. But Matos gets a free pass for me. He put trust in Key and it wasn't just the goal, but the way Key looks lost, he has 0 clue how to close people down and his passing was worse I've seen. Proberly put Casey on that side or Parker as you said. I know Key can be seen as a an excuse why we lost, but literally as soon as he came in he changed the whole team and for the worse. How 1 player can have such a poor effect on a whole team is mad. Also I would like to see Bobby Wales given a chance over Idah. |

Problem is he won't be dropped. I have been really disappointed in Burgess. But again Key is far worse. |

Stating the obvious, Key should never start nor be on the bench again. He is a shocking player and though we wasn't putting up trees, his presence straight away changed how we played. Burgess is not immune from criticism, but Key has been the reason why we have lost alot of games. No time for giving him chances and building his confidence. Move on. |

Burgess is not immune from critism as well but Key has cost us so many games As soon as he came on Thomas was a different player. Key looked lost His passing was shocking and his defending doesn't exist. Can't blame Matos for this. But lessons learned. Casey or Parker as Sub instead I say |
 | Forum Reply | Stoke City v Swansea City : Match day thread at 14:50 13 Dec 2025
Key is by far the worse player we have had in a long time. The amount of games he has aloud teams to cross or score from his side. He needs taken out of the squad ASAP. |
 | Forum Reply | Stoke v Swans : The biggest test so far for Matos at 22:26 12 Dec 2025
Agreed. We can do better than Key. He has shown signs of improvement at times, and granted Williams tried to encourage him to float into midfield and compared him to Gareth Bale, but if we have any ambition to establish a higher placd each season we have to get a solid replacement. Key has had plenty of time and opportunities and sadly exposes us really badly. Galbraith is not immune from this, as Ronald helps closing the crosses, but Galbraith offers alot more across the pitch. Tymon is another, he still gets exposed sometimes, but has improved his defense side alot since last season and also brings assists. |

I'm nervous and excited about this game. Alot of positivity is back, but I am worried about this one. I really hope we take it to them. 3 wins in a row or even a draw would be massive. |

I'm suprised it's 50/50. I do fear who ever gets chosen we will get exposed badly with Sorba. My biggest fear. Sadly I think he will have a big say on the game. |
 | Forum Reply | Idah , looks slow and clueless at 19:32 10 Dec 2025
I thought the same with Eom and VP would of got on end of it. I stand by my opinion that Idah was very much a last minute panic buy, as at the time we wasn't seeing the VP we are seeing now. We tried to get other players in and the one that was said to be the Wow signing. Can't overly blame the club for going in for Idah. Like I said I won't rule him out but I do think he is gonna struggle in Matos team. He isn't a player who naturally wants to do chasing down. |
 | Forum Reply | Idah , looks slow and clueless at 19:07 10 Dec 2025
Matos has said if you show that you want to close players down and show that side then you'll get into the starting lineup - in so many words. Idah for me reminds me of Yates sadly. Looks like he is chasing people down but kinda gives up. I would like to see what Wales can do and given opportunity. I'm not writing Idah off yet but last night he should of stamped him mark on the game. |

It's one game and Cullen like Keith mentioned is an enigma. I like others want him to be more consistent, but last night it felt like he was playing like he did in the Wales Squad. I hope for Cullen this can be his turning point as we need someone who can compete with Widell and both fighting for that place. |

What was interesting to me was how Oxford and Portsmouth tried to play dirty and we had poor referee in both games. Both teams tried to break up play. It will be interesting on Saturday. Imagine if we get a win and we then go into the Wrexham game even more confidence. Like you and I said, let's just not get a thumping and show signs of improvement. Will I be gutted if we lose, yes. But as long as we are showing we are progressing that what matters. It's a far cry from even a few weeks ago. Just don't balls it up now lads and build on the good feeling around the club and increased attendance. |
