Hull city away....
at 09:16 19 Feb 2026

I doff my cap to all those travelling to Hull. Its a Long trip, for an early kick off, with travel disruption.

I went on our first visit to the new stadium - the day of the 'town full of bombers' chants after the 7/7 terrorist attacks. Away fans bus back to the station got attacked and we had a punch up at the station, so I am in no rush to go back there.

Safe trip all and fingers crossed for an enjoyable game and 3 points....but more likely a dull game in awful weather and a long trip home with nil points

Sky Sports seem to be genuinely touting for Harry 'Candle Face' Redknapp to take on temporary role to the summer.

Not sure a boat holds 400 people. Two boats maybe. Hope all those that have booked get a great and safe trip. View of London from the river is a great sight.

Edit - ignore my scaremongering. Just a quick check online says boats can hold 300 to 550 people. Enjoy the trip.

I think (my view only) a lot of the abuse is generated from people who are betting addicts and are relying on results , players to score for their multi bets to come in, and when teams players don't score, perform, get yellow / red cards they lose sight of reality and become dicks by sending vile threats to a player, his wife and kids

Did the same thing a few years ago for our home game against Charlton. Me and a couple of other SE London QPR went on the boat trip with the Charlton B-Mob boys.

Had Tutenskamum band playing ska music on the trip. Great booze, boat had to stop at Westminster to take on more beer.

If the weather is good it is a great day out. Not sure a Wet Friday night in February will be that enjoyable. Hope it is not too choppy for you and you all have a great time and arrive safely

There is one reasonable pub in Woolwich - The Dial Arch, not too far from the Lizzie line station entrance. 5 min stroll to the mainline station for the train to Charlton

3 of us drinking with the Charlton boys before the game. That may continue after the game dependent on the result

Well done Spaceman_P for starting this

Really need to win this one, otherwise my weekend is going to be painful with my Charlton supporting pals.

To the footballing gods, please make sure Kelman & Dykes do not score!!

Councils used to have budgets to undertake preventative action on roads. The road gangs used to go round the streets tarring the joints in the road surfaces during the summer months, so when the weather got worse, ice, water and salt could not work there way into gaps that would otherwise grow and grow into pot holes and require a PROPER repair.

There is now a specialised JCB that has all the attachments incorporated into it to undertake a proper repair of potholes easily and quickly.

Apparently there is 230,000 miles of road in the UK and probably 6 potholes for every 50 metres of road. That is a national road network that looks like a huge slice of Swiss cheese

FYI - Anchor & Hope on the river is temporarily closed. The Antigalican pub by the train station is closed down. The only pub near the ground that I would recommend is the Rose of Denmark which is left and left again out the train station and a bit of a walk.

The Royal Oak on the other side of the ground is definitely a HOME only pub

FYI - Not much in the way of watering holes near the ground now days with a few old pubs now closed. Would suggest those attending to head to Blackheath or Greenwich before the game and jumping on the train to Charlton.

The Pilot near the O2 is also a good shout if coming by the Jubilee line, it is a short bus trip to Charlton or a lengthy walk from there

Main Reason you started following QPR ??
at 12:15 19 Jan 2026

I blame my cousin who got me into QPR.

As all my family on my mums side came out of Bermondsey they all supported Millwall and my first ever game I attended with my Grandad (probably around the age of 4) was at The Den

However, my cousin liked the QPR kit and in 1974 we had the makings of a great team, roll on 75/76 season - Bowles, Francis, Thomas etc and that was it....a life sentence of supporting QPR was handed down to me.

Funny enough my turncoat cousin is back supporting Wall. Not a bad thing as he has tickets for the Executive boxes and I will be sitting on my hands in their later in the season, surrounded by the rest of the Wall family massive.

Now all my wife's family are from Canning Town and staunch West Ham. The wedding was interesting when someone thought playing 'Bubbles' was a good idea.

Yes that is me.

Known A from Leigh-on-Sea for 40 years

Was a good pal of ND who died out in Thailand

I do know SL. Took him to the Leicester game and went out with him after. Had to put him in a cab as he was ruined and could barely stand up. LOL

I assume I have been in your company QPsyR, how would I know you?

It is weird but was in the pub in Canary Wharf before the West Ham game and bumped into a couple of old faces and got chatting to them and in the space of 10 minutes found out both of them had lived in the Sidcup / Blackfen area in the past . Small world

After a particularly full on December on the booze one year I decided to give the old liver a rest and managed to do a dry January & February. Cant say I felt any better for giving up the booze and caned it again in March of that year.. so a relatively pointless exercise from a health perspective, but from a mental point of you, it proved that I could do it.
