I think it's a fairly reserved reaction to a pretty appalling situation. |

Unfit squad for most of the first half of the season, injured squad for a good shot of the second. It's going well, isn't it? |

Not sure why we need one more keeper than we did before Walsh broke his wrist. Maybe a loan out for one of the younger keepers? Or even Walsh? Or Nardi might be off? |

Used to go to all the youth games with Alan and his lovely crew. Then used to meet them for a few pints in the Western Arms up Ladbroke Grove. Alan was a gent, a wise and funny man who was great company. He looked after me when I was a young fella and I'll always be thankful to him. Coladh sámh, a chara. Go raibh míle. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam árd-uasal. |

I try to get over from Cork, but cancelled my Christmas/New Year's trip. Will try to do day-trips maybe, in future. |

I'd hope that the funeral cortege will arrive a split-second late, with style, and in a world of space for the tap-in. A fine, fine footballer. Ar dheis Dé. |

No, me neither: 1) He clearly negotiated for another worker's job while they were still in it, and 2) He's working for a vile and racist club |

Agreed. |

"As for this season do you think Stephane would actually lie in interviews about injuries?" Well, I think it's one of the possibilities, for sure, Nix. Managers lie all the time, and it's not always a bad thing either. They cover for players going through personal issues, for instance. Sometimes a good lie is better than a bad truth. And, yes, I think players could be withdrawn for contract/transfer reasons. I don't know the truth in this case, I just thought Sunday was incredibly odd. I agree with you that they wouldn't flog Burrell just to punish Kolli, but they could equally have given Frey or Bennie more game-time in Burrell's stead if they thought there was a risk of injury and they chose not to do that either. |

I agree with all of that, Nix. It makes sense in a logical world. But (and didn't you just know there was a 'but'!) after Sunday I'm even more sceptical about Kolli's recent 'injury'. Sunday was just weird. If a player is coming back from a genuine injury, and not a contract/personality/transfer-related injury, and has been out long term, returns on Jan 1st for 20 minutes off the bench, the next step is surely 30 minutes, or 40 minutes. Instead, only three days later, after 20 minutes Burrell goes down, the management reach for Kolli to play 70-80 minutes. That's a gigantic step up for a supposedly-injured player. Attackers on the bench at the time were Dembéle, Bennie, Smyth, even Field who'd played there in the last game. Or the formation could be tweaked. To bypass all of them and to put Kolli's number up makes no sense to me. If he was injured, that is. |

Very true, Kensal. I have to say that even though I really like Morgan's talent I'm pleasantly surprised at his passing stats being so high, but I might have been skewed by a few notable passes that went awry and lead to danger e.g. Cov away and a similar one at home to Norwich (the dangers of outcome bias). |
