A figurehead manager is definitely not part of the operating model, far too threatening to Nourry and the performance battalion, sadly
I get the idea of a model per se ,in that if it’s done well it can be sustaining and not subject to short term shocks (coaches moving on, loss of your favourite players ) but we seem to have gone dar too far the other way.
Good, but sad, thread that summarises our shitshow in a nutshell. Lack of standards is on show everywhere, not just for the odd half a game but consistently across many games. For me it’s all about a lack of standards, whether that’s basic 10 yard passes, closing down, tackling (has anyone seen a Harvey Vale tackle in the wild ?), any sense of order and r structure to our play….
I honestly feel that Warburton would instill some standards as a replacement for the boy wonder and lead the clear out of the non-performance department. He’s a bright, hard working guy who would demand more from everyone. The big question is whether he would want to work with Hoos again or whether Hoos would go for it? Whilst we always change the Manager to little effect, I do think JS is done, but just changing him won’t change a thing.
Sadly, all the above needs Ruben to strap some on and I don’t see that happening.
Similar tale, I missed it by 7weeks…my Dad arrived home via the Bush gone midnight with a rosette for my Mum, which he proceeded to slap upon her distended stomach (i.e. me)
Thanks for sorting both at such short notice Clive, we are lucky to have these guys in our corner. Having both the written word and the voiceover is certainly very helpful and leaves me slightly more optimistic than before, subject to revving up the sales machine.
