What commentator do you dislike the most?
at 13:56 18 Feb 2026

I think Peter Drury might be AI.

Every time someone shoots he shouts their full name. Every single time. And he always tries to get the full name in. And always with a ridiculously excitable intonation.

Once you've noticed it, that's every game he commentates on ruined.

He's the second worst Premier League thing after VAR. God only know how he has become Sky's lead commentator. Unless he's AI, as I say.

Steve Cram at the Winter Olympics is appalling. He’s bad enough for athletics but his Curling commentary is toe curling. He can’t shut up and nothing he says is of any interest, as is clear as soon as the experts with him speak.

And he absolutely loves using technical Curling terms as if he’s itk. It’s embarrassing.

Exactly this.

Walking across wasteland, like as scene from The Warriors, to get there.

And now you mention it, I'd imagine the helicopter flying in each of the four sides separately which were then bolted together with fixings from Ikea.

Boro. Never like them. A nothing team and the Riverside in a lego stadium that should really be the site of a nuclear power station, not a football ground.

6 subs used against Leicester ??
at 16:10 15 Feb 2026

Listening to the Solent commentary and Blackmore was asked this same question about the number of subs. His response was 'I don't know'.

Earlier he had been asked about the youngsters coming on and had said that he would have to ask Alfie House as 'he watches a lot of the reserve games'.

It's very kind of Blackmore to rock up without doing any homework and good to know that he can't be @rsed to watch anyone other than the first team play.

Does anyone know, does he have another full time job apart from his Saints gig??

Like it or not the country relies on immigration.

The dreams of those who hope to see immigration falling and people who are already here filling the vacancies are just that.

But if Farage can sell the same pup twice then good luck him.

End of this season
at 15:05 13 Feb 2026

The last season in the PL was soul destroying but there's no choice but to try to get promoted and, if necessary, suffer the same ignominy all over again. Simply because it extends the period of decent money coming in by another two years.

And who knows, Martin was a joke in the PL, as was Juric tbh.

If Eckert gets us up, I'd back him to do better than those clowns.

Just been sacked by Spurs.

Let's assume that we can afford him and he's willing to come. Should we try to replace Tonda with him?

All hypotheticals, but it focuses the mind in terms of how people now feel about Tonda.

Personally, I'm all in with Tonda for now.

(Spoiler alert: Imagine what Tonda could do at Spurs!...)

He turned it round at the break. He turned it round after the Will Still disaster. And he turned it round when things dropped off shortly after he was appointed.

He’s young and inexperienced. He’s going to make mistakes. But I make that 10 wins in 19 league games now. And he knows how to stop a rot.

We are very lucky to have him.

10 wins ffs...

On a positive note, perhaps that's the last we'll see of Archer this season.

I missed his first miss, but got a feed just in time to see him mis-pass the ball out to touch which, with help from some Jander madness, led to their first goal.

What a generous team we are, the gifts we give.

One swallow does not a summer make.

We've won 9 out of the last 18 in the league and drawn 4 of the other 9.

That's hardly 'one swallow' and we are now only 4 points from 6th with 15 games and 45 points still to play.

Getting into that 3rd or 4th play off spot is ALL about end of season form.

Of course we can make the play-offs.

Whether we will or not is another matter.

Football Is Gone

If you qualify for a European competition you shouldn't be in the League Cup.

That would liven up the League Cup no end.

Anything connected with Man City kills me. A team made up of some of the best footballers in the world playing the most soulless, boring version of the game imaginable.

I futilely told my son tonight that they were the Anatoly Karpov of football teams.

My first thought was who's let Gao loose on the site, but then I remembered how much you love him!

In terms of logo, maybe blue, capital U and I surrounding a football with some Chinese Characters underneath?

The abrupt loss in form shortly after he was appointed, suggested that the early wins might have been a flash in the pan.

But he's done well again in the last few games and that to me demonstrates a bit of steel.

Others before him have simply been unable to turn the ship out of a run of bad results. He's now done that twice as far as I'm concerned. And this represents a massive improvement.

That would be another story. Why would any team not have him taking free kick?!

What amazes me is that in two and half seasons and 66 games played since he left, he still hasn't scored another free kick!

Must be karma.

We have more chance of going up now than next season
at 10:11 27 Jan 2026

Watching the game on TV on Sunday, it crossed my mind that Tonda might turn out to be a 'steadying the ship' type manager.

We didn't look like world beaters but I felt that we were doing the right things and I didn't have the same sense of hopelessness as when watching the Jones or Still teams.

Let's see if we can make some king of useful/sensible signing this month and then see how the next 19 games go.

57 points to play for and getting into that final play off slot is all about momentum /form in the final part of a season and winning on the final day.

And let's worry about next season when it comes. We are where we are.

Every time you mention Gao you add the excuse about Chinese exchange controls.

Was he not able to secure funds elsewhere? Could he not have tried to sell up as soon as he knew that his business plan was f*cked.

It's odd that you are so keen to excuse him. The sale to him was a disaster. It's when everything started to go very wrong.

I don't feel the need to sympathise with the restraints behind his terrible ownership.

Also can't forget that he got us sponsored by some made up company.
