There are an increasing amount of parallels between darts and football - Sky being the broadcast partner since the PDC started, prize money increasing exponentially, younger players getting corporate endorsement on the rise and multi-year sponsorship deals. All sports evolve and darts was never going to stay in smoky pubs and working men's clubs so maybe this was inevitable and fair play to those making a bit of coin while they can. On the one hand, I think PP as a sponsor do good stuff like raising awareness of and donating to prostate cancer causes but on the other, their marketing is just a bit too...cute?... and the whole tournament experience with chants, "spontaneous" poznans / Mexican waves and boxing-style announcers leaves me a bit cold. That fùcking Ballon d'Art can get right in the sea too. Maybe I'm just an auld man shaking his fist at the clouds. Agree with what's being said about Littler at the moment on last night's performance - he was utterly metronomic. "180? Yeah mate, here's a 147 finish." Anyone challenging will need to play possibly their best darts and hope Littler has an off day. |

John Barnes - feels like the ultimate "one that got away" and always seemed to tear us a new one. Alan Shearer - I love watching good strikers, more for what they're doing without the ball than with it and he was one of the best - a complete #9 Luis Suarez - odious little oik but as above, must have been a nightmare to play against. |

It's been a while so I might be misremembering, but wasn't Tommy Nintendo connected to the club in some way? |

For me, b) was the unwritten rule when these boards were on the old rivals.net platform as inevitably, there would come a time when you did meet other posters in person, both Rs fans and fans of other clubs. In terms of consequences, I followed the Joey Barton case with interest - it looks like he was very close to doing bird there. |

I don't think being chained to the railings of a North Sea oilrig and used as a screaming human jizzjar by two hundred great big hairy-backed bastards in the middle of the most violent thunderstorm the world has ever seen is enough but I've been known to overreact. |

I thought the booing was for Robinson who was being subbed off. Mine were anyway. |

I'm still a bit undecided about Madsen but I was in C block right behind that cross and it looked like it would end up a goal even as he shaped to hit it. Bardsely-esque. |

I'm sure I heard one of them say something like "the world cup draw powered by Aramco" |

I'd fancy getting out of that group if we qualify. |

I'm still struggling to process that draw and they finish with a big old bear tribute act? Wow. |

Cropper was the antithesis of lots of the speed merchants already mentioned. Lovely clean tone, perfectly phrased and timed riffs, masterful use of a chop. He was like a good ref - did the job so unobtrusively well you might not take a lot of notice but when he's not there everything goes to shìt rapidly. RIP |

Flexibly speaking, I would advise you not to be so condescending to your fellow supporters eh? |

I make a point that some people hold absolutist binary opinions and you prove it with the first four words of your reply. Well done, I'm impressed. If you were at the Ipswich game and think that Esquerdinha is ready to be considered back up, I worry for you. |

... and Matt said nothing negative in his post. Following Rangers is becoming increasingly Brexit-ish - if you're not 100% behind Nourry and the project you're an idiot and if you are, conversely everyone else is an idiot. It's a tired trope but two things can be true at the same time. Matt finishes by exhorting us all to "support the things we do know." I do know our best options at left-back are a loan deemed surplus to requirements at a team in the relegation spots and Sam Field. You cannot look at that one position - an issue for 3 years now - and wax lyrical about balance and depth. |

You asked a woman for directions? A WOMAN?!? For the love of all that's holy you'd have been better off asking a dog to explain the concept of Norway. |
