Two impossible games to lose but we managed it with great aplomb.

We lost at Norwich last season after they changed their manager and couldn't beat Preston recently after booting out their boss. Not good news for our next home game.

As Burnley are visiting shortly you can guarantee they will sack their manager in the ne t week or so and we will face a more motivated Burnley team.

What happened to their key word at conference a few weeks ago? HOPE, hope and more hope. Everything will get better so there is hope was the message. Sounds like the key word should be despair as the future is all hopeless...

Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread
at 19:38 17 Oct 2026

The disappointing aspect was an old failing of last season returned today conceding just after half time which we did a lot of last season. It seemed to settle the contest today and we appeared to accept it was game over from that point. I was expecting a bit more from us and being relatively in form despite the injuries. I hope it was a bad day in the office and not the start of a slump in form. After the next two tough matches we then have Burnley and Lincoln at home, perfectly winnable if we have some of the wounded back.

Injuries
at 13:23 15 Oct 2026

When you have a three game week, it really doesn't help when they add on 10 minutes stoppage time in a game that was done and dusted. Derby just wanted to get off the pitch and go home and we were just seeing out the game a man down. I understand the time being added on to the full extent but in the circumstances last night the additional time was not going to change the outcome. I don't think either side would complain if only 4 minutes added on as it was 4-0 not 1-0. The longer you keep tired players out there the more likely they succumb to injury. We nearly played a full half of extra time.

Pleased that we finally managed to take our chances but aggravated we only drew the second half. The goal we conceded dropped us one place to fifth.

Agreed. Staggered to see Swansea are 9 points above us but I guess if they keep winning while we keep drawing such a gap can be made. I find it frustrating that Cardiff can score four in one half whereas we struggle to convert chances, then you see Brum score four against a team we couldn't beat in the last home game. Just to add to this we now see Blackburn above us so it's about time we win a game tomorrow...

King Charles’ flying form foils West Ham – Report
at 22:10 10 Oct 2026

If anyone watched the Millwall v West Ham game you will have seen Millwall dominate for 65 minutes leading 2-0 with 100% grit and effort. Then they ran out of steam, West Ham took control of the last 20 minutes after making their subs and pinned Millwall back and got it back to 2-2. What I saw on Friday was an identical game but this time it was our subs that made West Ham better, not their own. When so called lesser teams tire, the quality of more fancied teams takes over. If Millwall and us didn't run out of steam, I doubt West Ham would have comeback.

Blowing Bubbles Up The R's Match Thread

After looking so comfortable for much of the game it was annoying we couldn't get the second goal. Unfortunately we have been more often than not, plagued by injuries and this often results that when we make subs we actually get worse. We have had this problem for years that our subs weaken us. In the end we could have lost so I guess it was no surprise we once again don't win away in London.

Still the drama at the end made it a pleasing draw as we deserved something from the game. We also have to look at West Ham's recent home games where they put 4 past Wolves and 6 against Wrexham so the boys did well to concede only once.

Man City - GUILTY
at 21:25 30 Sep 2026

I did say after that City game that I was unimpressed that we had fans celebrating a winning goal against us. That was a game we should have stopped City winning the league and the kudos we would have got from that. I said at the time City would go and dominate and all we would have done is temporarily delay them winning the Premiership. It was clear with their state funding they would be financial giants buying all the trophies. I get that people hated Man Utd that day but I said after that game that in time people would come to hate City too. I was right about that looking at what fans of other clubs have to say about them.

Anyway can someone wake me up when the 3-2 defeat that day gets overturned for cheating...

If City are booted out of the EPL does this mean the EFL could reject them as cheats not wanted in any of the three leagues? Send them into non league football please.

Can they retrospectively strip them of the 2012 title and wipe out their late goals against us and award us a 2-1 win? Like to see that happen as it will finally stop all the footie channels showing the Aguero goal if it was retrospectively disallowed.

You are right I could have said a draw with Bolton is better than Norwich managed but we all saw the game and we should have beaten Bolton. The real point I was trying to make is that despite a good start, we have not won more games than Bolton or Lincoln who came up from league 1. It just rankles with me that Bolton can score four away at a ground we constantly fail at while we couldn't score on Saturday on two occasions from point blank range. If just one of those had gone in we would have had more time to get the winner.

I agree we are harder to beat and playing better this season but I don't feel it is truly reflected in the results. Like I said previously we haven't won in the last four and we now have a tougher run of games. By the end of it we could be lamenting another one win in 10 games scenario if we don't put the ball in the net. Hence my lack of excitement as I have seen this script many times before.

If Rangers are going to turn me into a believer we have turned a corner, then I will need to see us win away in London, also win at Norwich and actually beat teams like Sheffield United, Burnley and Southampton at home at the very least.

I must apologise to everyone in advance but I remain unconvinced about our credentials to do well this season. Perhaps it's just me but I worry about stats.

I am troubled we have only won once in 5 home league and cup games.
I am troubled we have gone 4 matches without a win.
I am troubled we haven't played most of the best teams yet.
In reality we have only won 3 out of 8 matches. Bolton and Lincoln have also won 3 games, in Lincoln's case, all 1-0 away which takes some doing.

Only we could go one down at home in 20 seconds to the bottom team which to me is same old Rangers. While we struggle converting chances it annoys me that Bolton can go to the Rangers graveyard of Carrow Road and score four, where we usually lose for fun.

I acknowledge our performances are better but I don't think it is reflected in our results. A really good team would have dismantled Bolton, Charlton and Preston. I fear if we are wasteful in front of goal against the better teams we will pay for it.

Early days I know but I can see the warning signs so I won't be getting carried away that corners are being turned for the season ahead. Sorry folks...

QPR v Pissed on knob end match Fred
at 18:27 19 Sep 2026

I guess I worry too much. Great to see that character today but most of us expected 3 points before kick off. We have played five home league and cup games this season and only won once. If the club have ambitions of being in the top 6 at the business end of the season then we really need to start winning at home. This run of draws has seen Stoke make up 7 points on us to draw level. We are seeing better displays but the end result at home is still disappointing in terms of dropped points as has happened in the past few seasons.

Flair players
at 18:13 19 Sep 2026

From memory Taarabt was not only our best flair player when we won the Championship, he was actually the best player in the division that season. That I feel is the difference between him and Eze as I don't feel Eze was ever the best player in the division. As good as Eze was for us, I don't think he reached the levels of Taarabt under Warnock. Taarabt was a match winner and he was often the difference in us winning or not. Since Eze left we have not had a real game changer with that added quality of creativity and finishing and recent final league positions shows that.

Anyway haven't we been saying since the 70's that flair players are not appreciated by managers? Think back to Don Revie as England manager and how many caps players like Bowles and Worthington got. We want to see them but managers have other ideas.

Good point, bad point - Report

I suppose there is something in Briatore's thinking. After 3 games we had 7 points and Stoke had zero. Now after 7 games we have 12 points and Stoke have 10. So with us starting to draw matches and Stoke have started winning, they have clawed back 5 points on us even though we only lost once.

If the players are fed up of him they might be lifted by this news and pull their finger out for us. I imagine the caretaker manager will get them into a low block to frustrate us like Bolton and Charlton.

Charlton and the Wheelies Match Thread
at 22:36 9 Sep 2026

Perhaps it's me but we are generally hopeless in winning away in London and tonight, for me, was same old Rangers in a derby. We didn't create much in our previous visit last season to the Valley until stoppage time and tonight felt like a repeat 90 minutes of creating next to nothing. Early days I know, but I fear our lack of goals could keep us in the bottom half of the table particularly in tandem with an injury prone squad.
