Mrs S has been onto me about this. No point hoarding food if you haven’t got water and power. We’ve ordered a camping stove and candles online. Hope the courier doesn’t feel he needs them more. Also took out some cash, getting water later. The main principle is not to get something you wouldn’t otherwise use. |

We had one of those too, kept it under cover in the garden. Like you, started well, but grew to hate it. Lucky to get about what I paid for it when I finally got rid of it. |

I'm not normally a gadget man, but during the boredom and confinement of Covid, I bought a Pinter, heavily promoted online at the time, described by purists as "home-brew for idiots". Couldn't be simpler, a plastic keg with a tap (about £60), you order a pack online of flavour concentrate (about twleve styles to choose from) and a small amount of yeast, tip it in the keg and fill it with water. Keep it at room temperature for about 5 days, finish it off in the fridge for another 2 or 3 and you're ready to go.
To my surprise, it was actually good-tasting beer. For a £12 pack, you could make about eight pints, but the last one and a half were a bit sludgy and you have to finish it off within a week. I was so keen I got a second keg within a few weeks, so I could have a new one to look forward to each weekend. The problems were...
1) As they were a start-up, they struggled to cope with their initial success. Deliveries were late or cancelled, the quality could vary, once bursting in the pack, once the yeast was a dud.
2) I was drinking a lot of beer!
I went on a health kick, put the kegs in the shed and pretty much forgot about them until we were clearing out to move. To my surprise, the company is still going (probably changd ownership a few times), bur they have changed their branding focus. Instead of their own brews you can have the great taste of Brewdog at home now if you can't be arsed to go to any supermaket and buy 6 tins for a fiver, but I don't regret my summer of Pinter. |

Doesn't the ESPN brand belong to Disney? Even if they aren't using it in Britain at present, they aren't going to let TNT use it (I think they belong to whatever Time Warner/ Paramount are called now). |

The stats don’t show us having any more possession than recent seasons, but we seem to have it higher up the pitch and using it to create more opportunities and a lot of it is down to him. I have spent most of my adult life pleading with the Rangers midfield to win more “second balls”, and suddenly we are. What a difference it makes. |
