Same Time Next Year
at 14:53 12 Mar 2026

Exactly stay in the Championship and be competitive in the Championship must be the goal. Look at Millwall, similar club to QPR they have cemented themselves into being very competitive in this league since coming up from League 1 about 10 years or so ago. They have been improving year on year and have been knocking at the doors of the play off for last 3 or 4 years and are now in with a great chance of being automatically promoted. Going about their business in an organised and structured way, as far as I can remember only had 3 or 4 managers in last few years including Rowett and now Alex Neill both proven operators at this level. We have been toiling away with foreign coaching experiments and two ex players who could not cut it at this level.

Gaffer on tonight's defeat
at 07:43 12 Mar 2026

Agree, watching the lot of them in the first half last night and in the Boro game they look like they have basically given up with the current management set up. Suspect that Stephan is already on his way out when the season is done and the players are just reflecting that situation. This does not help ths supporters who have paid good money to travel last night basically let down by apathy from our team. On Sam Field yes he has been a great servant at our club, but his future at QPR was finished at the Coventry debacle last August, also Morgan has gone backwards under this management this season.

And look who they beat at their place as well. Can't see us doing anything at the moment, actually thought our players were contriving to get Stephan out in the 1st half and have been since Blackburn at home.

They've given up, unacceptable to those that have travelled to this game. I can only think that there is something going on and that the manager is about to be leaving with a P45 in the morning and they are preparing it for him.

WLS - Edwards might be moved into QPR’s midfield
at 13:10 11 Mar 2026

Got to do something to get the midfield working with what we currently have, Edwards, Varane and Hayden across the middle, slot Cook back alongside Dunne at central defence. I do think that Morgan is struggling this season and would have him on the bench. My team for tonight would be Hamer, Mbengue, Norrington-Davies, Dunne, Cook, Edwards,Hayden, Varane, Smyth, Vale and Kone. Edwards looks our best option in breaking out through the middle, looks much better when he is on the offensive in my opinion.

Hoopsa on today's horror show

For this club to progress it needs a spark of something, whether that be ownership, player, ground, management, footballing strategy, cup run (laugh), play off place etc. For me, since QPR fell out of the top tier in the mid 90s there has been no real pattern to anything we do and loss of top tier status just as the Prem was taking off probably hit the club harder than most. From then on it's all throw mud at the wall and hope it sticks, even the Warnock & Redknapp promotions. The new training centre is probably the best thing structurally that has happened to the club in the last 40 years, since the ground was re-developed in the early 80s, finding and developing a player like Eze another plus point. I am sorry to say this we are a tier 2 team our only hope of progression is that spark and until that happens we will continue on the current mediocre pathway. For clubs like QPR we have to work harder to achieve things and when you get that thing you have to work even harder to maintain it, something that in my view has been missing for years since the loss of Premier football in the mid 90s.

QPR thrashed, Boro run riot, night follows day, bear seen heading for wood

Great report Clive, could not make the game yesterday, so had to watch on Sky. I actually got the feeling that the Sky commentators actually felt sorry that QPR a great club with history were so poor.

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season
at 13:22 9 Mar 2026

I agree sort of felt that Warburton could have stepped up to Director of Football with Eustace as Head Coach, but no Warburton had to go for various reasons above his head and for what you describe about the youth development stuff and no doubt caught up with the politics of Hoos, Ferdinand and Ramsey and an ownership that seem blinded to appointing decent football people, although I so recognise that the owners are keeping us afloat with a cash input to meet our revenue shortfall.

This Season Almost A Replica of The McLaren Season
at 11:37 9 Mar 2026

Sort of feel that this season has fallen into a trough of where we were with Steve McLaren in 2018/19 season, poor start good mid point and drastic fall away in late winter/early spring. I hope like McLaren's contract there is an option to review and part ways with Stephan at the end of the season. To be honest I never really felt we should have let Warburton & Eustace go in 2022, they could have built something, but no the politics always gets in the way. Another thing there must be more to these injuries especially Chair, Poku and the new Coventry signing that they are just always injured?

All A Hard Watch & Struggle

Yes Boro are a good step above us and they play with a lot of confidence and basically played around us, creating space on our tight pitch. We just don't have for want of the words the technically gifted midfield players that teams like Boro have that can deliver through the centre of the park. What is most frustrating is we are now in the worst of both worlds, we are getting done over by bigger more physical teams i.e. Blackburn and Sheff Utd and now the more pacy gifted teams i.e. Boro and Ipswich. Warnock had it right in the Sky studio , QPR lack fight and physicality and are easy to turn over.

Watching Stephan's interview on Sky he does not seem bothered to me, just kept talking how technically brilliant Boro were, we know they are better than us, can't see him staying after the end of the season. Another one passing through our club and to be honest don't really care much for him as the manager anyway.

All points to the other thread, "Has The Game Gone", lots of smoke and mirrors with football these days including injuries, transfers, back room staff and communication. Basically an over bloated industry but still enjoyable, even the money offered to players at non league level is I understand quite an eye opener.

Well drilled, looking good Boro this season, it might be a very tough watch at Loftus Road on Sunday. I actually think we might be able to get a result in this game, if we can cut out those head scratching mistakes which usually put us on the back foot. Heart saying a 1-1 draw but head saying a Boro win, just hope it is not a tonking if Boro do win.

All so true, it's just rinse and repeat season after season, you could even liken it to the DABDA grief principle as we head to 16th place.

Not good enough for the rigours of Championship football, much like Heverton Santos, Reggie Cannon and Hermalinan from a few years back. There is a pattern here and we keep signing them.

I can't see Stephan being with us next season, probably go back to French football and leave by mutual consent. Don't think he will be sacked may even have a break clause in his contract on a one year rolling basis.

Sheffield United Reflection
at 19:05 28 Feb 2026

For me the game was done at 2-0 down, thought Esquidina (Heverton Santos mk 2) was awful again, to blame for the first done over by Chong the Championship journeyman, Varane terrible, compounded by giving the ball away for the 2nd goal. I was just suprised that we were not tonked in the 2nd half. Looked much better with Smyth and Mbengue on the pitch, both should have started. Don't know why our goal was disallowed. Can't see us doing anything against Middlesbrough they are at another level.
