3 very poor results for England. Lost convincingly to Pakistan in the first game, some failed to defend a total of 429 and then today failing to win a game with only 1 wicket needed and 88 runs to play with. |

Disappointing performance. Brum the better side but didn't create much really - we wouldn't have scored either of the 1st two goals because they would have been free kicks for fouls on Kolli and Kamara. Ref gave a couple of soft free kicks to Roberts for similar contact as on Kolli and Kamara.
Brum centreback should have got a red - how is that tackle only a yellow when Cirkins was a red? |

From the bbc website - "A Football Association (FA) independent regulatory commission handed the German a six-week ban from all football, but suspended it until the end of next season.
Eckert has also been given a £28,000 fine and reprimand but avoided a lengthy ban that could have cost him his job.
The FA had proposed a three-month ban, but the commission gave credit to Eckert for what they called 'considerable mitigation in this matter, most particularly around the genuine contrition'.
The FA is yet to confirm whether it will appeal."
The article also says "The most recent precedent for this case came at the 2024 Olympics women's tournament, when Fifa banned Bev Priestman - Canada's head coach - from all football for a year after opponents New Zealand were spied on."
Seems a bit of a difference between a year and 6 weeks suspended. The comment about 'genuine contrition' - this was only after he and the club had been caught. If they had been the ones that brought it to everyone's attention, then maybe.
Also, does anyone really believe they only did this 3 times and didn't win any of those games?? |

If one of the points of us loaning players is for them to prove whether or not they are good enough for our level (Championship), then the fact that he can't currently get a game at League Two suggests he isn't good enough (although it is only the end of September).
However, hopefully, training at 1st team level for Swindon will be beneficial for him even if he isn't currently good enough to get into their team regularly. |

One of the benefits of this system is that many of the smaller countries can stronger squads and get better quality players playing for them, making them more competitive.
I do agree though, once you have committed to a country at full international level, you shouldn't be able to play for another one in the way that Rice has for example. |

Generally find at cricket that the drunken beer spillages and beer snakes mainly happen in certain stands, for example at Headingley in the Western Terrace.
They even market that stand - "Split into three zones, Blocks A and B are the Fanzone where we welcome those who wish to come in fancy dress. The favoured area of the Barmy Army, we also welcome large groups of friends who may want to enjoy the party atmosphere as much as the cricket."
There are also a couple of other stands where no alcohol is allowed, so you can choose what you want. |

Club have now confirmed who is away and what games their countries play
"An abundance of R's are away on international duty during the extended break.
Kealey Adamson could make his Socceroos bow after receiving his first senior Australia call-up.
The R’s full-back – who has represented his nation at youth level – is Down Under for a double-header with Brazil.
Adamson and co’s first friendly takes place in Townsville before meeting the five-time World Cup winners again in Brisbane four days later.
Left-back Dennis Cirkin is also in line for a debut.
The defender has been picked for Latvia’s Nations League games against Armenia (A), Cyprus (H), Montenegro (H) and Cyprus (A).
Rumarn Burrell re-joins the Jamaica fold after missing their World Cup play-off defeat through injury late last season.
The Reggae Boyz begin their Nations League campaign with four fixtures over the break. Home outings against Guatemala and Honduras are followed by trips to El Salvador and Honduras.
Jonathan Varane’s Martinique are amongst the teams in Jamaica’s group.
Varane and co travel to El Salvador and Suriname before hosting Honduras and El Salvador.

I think the language used wasn't just normal swear words as the younger lad seemed to be saying it was outdated language but don't know exactly. |
