1. My first visit since the horrendous 3-0 defeat in 2018 under Mark Hughes. Swore I would never go back there again. Yesterday was slightly different….
2. I do like the Howling Hops pub there near Hackney Wick station; went there before and after the game. Heaving, but plenty of bar staff, so all good. Weird thing going on with the sinks in the loos though, with a gap which leads through to the sinks in the ladies’ loos…..
3. Ridiculous number of security checks and ticket checks at the ground, including ticket checks at half-time. They are clearly on to people taking screenshot pics of digital tickets though.
4. Never seen a ground empty so quickly while the game was still going on.
5. Yesterday was a moment. The rest of the League should really fear us now.

What a day.
Topped off by a riotous Reston gig at British Airways ARC at Kensington Olympia.
Got home with my daughter at 2.30am (in old money…) but one of the very best days.
Good to see a number of Ugly regulars yesterday. |

For all this “nice little club” drivel that some spout on here, it should be remembered that they cheated their way up to the Prem in 2015 and got little more than a slap on the wrist.
Their disregard for the rules was arguably much more cynical and over a longer period of time than Saints.

Driving to Basingrad and then training it up, as am at a Reytons gig at Olympia after the game, so may not get home on the night if relying wholly on trains, what with the engineering works between Eastleigh and Bournemouth.
Will therefore have to watch the beer intake. |

One can imagine that with a £10 million prize at stake for "projects", there is scope for all sorts of brown envelopes to change hands here.
You would have thought Portsmouth City Council would have enlisted the services of a prominent member of the Redknapp family to assist in smoothing things..... |

It is a good venue. Seen many a lively gig there.
And Portsmouth Guildhall is one of my favourite gig venues as well, in truth. It's a much better venue than Southampton Guildhall, it pains me to say. |

The smaller allocation is a much better place to be in the ground though, both for atmosphere and view.
I bloody hate that side stand; it is my least favourite away end in the whole country, more so than West Ham and Newcastle. |
