Queens Park Rangers V Swansea City : Match Thread
at 21:38 26 Oct 2026

I completely understand everyone's frustration. When you lose by a scoreline like that, the anger is 100% justified. But overall, I want to try and be as analytical as possible without getting carried away by emotion.

Vigoroux: Sure, it wasn't his finest match, but think about how many times he's saved us this season. When a goalkeeper has to be the man of the match on a regular basis, it's because you have defensive issues. It would be a different story if he was just fundamental because he's flawless on the few occasions opposition teams reach him, and I think that second description fits him best.

Lissah: By far our best defensive player. I'd love to see him play at centre-back, but given our current injuries, it's impossible right now. I really want to see him alongside Welsh at the back again.

Cabango: A proper rollercoaster. When Ben first stepped up to the first team, I thought he'd be our next Rodon or Williams. It's clear he has quality and can reach high levels, but every time he makes a mistake, it reminds us why he hasn't moved on from Swansea like the others.

Defensive struggle: Today the defense looked really vulnerable against the pace and power of QPR's attack. I saw our defenders getting bounced around and left in the dust time and again. We have to address this whenever we face sides built like that.

Widell: I applaud him because he runs like a marathon runner all game with his tireless fighting spirit, and he has occasional flashes of brilliance. But most of the time, he just doesn't have the tactical composure needed for that role yet. That's the second goal he's given away from that position. Sorry, but I'd prefer to see other options tried now—let him either improve or come on as a sub when we're leading or need to press high.

Just: He strikes me as an interesting player, but we spent a decent amount of money on someone coming from a league that, let's be honest, can't compete with the Championship. You can't sign a player based solely on a World Cup group stage where anything can happen. I expect him to improve, but for now, he's struggling with the physical demands and rhythm of British football.

Winger situation: I'm not saying Yeo, Opoku, Eom, or Ronald are bad players, but we are far from having genuine match-winners out wide in this league. They are improving, and I hope they reach a level where they make the difference, but I really want to see Monga soon—I think he can offer us something completely different, just like he did at Leicester City.

Without a doubt, the team collapsed today. Granted, if Idah had scored that shot off the post following Just's pass, things could have been very different. Sure, if we’d converted our early chances, we might think the performance wasn't all bad. But it was a poor game—a side that lost its composure. Now it's time to see Matos rally the squad and establish whether we're locking down a playoff spot (which I think is the bare minimum for us) or if we can push for more.

Finally, I wanted to share something from back home in Mexico. Over in Latin America, we have a term called being 'Canchero'. A canchero team is one filled with streetwise experience, swagger, and grit—seasoned campaigners who, when things get tough, dig deep, rely on their self-respect and raw instincts, and stand tall on any pitch to put up a real fight. Sometimes I feel this Swansea side is missing a bit of that canchero spirit."

Did history just repeat itself with Michu and Vipotnik?
at 19:55 26 Oct 2026

It’s been many years now since Michu had that incredible first season. Back then, we didn't have such easy access to the internet, as many social media platforms, or the constant stream of rumours like we do today. I remember reading somewhere that when the Russian league was looking to expand and do what Saudi Arabia is doing now, Michu was a target, and a £60 million offer was supposedly on the horizon. To me, that sounded absurd—that was the kind of money paid for Zidane years earlier.

I don't know how true that rumour was, but I also recall reading that no offer would be accepted for our star player at the time. If that offer was genuine, turned down, it was arguably the most brutal financial management error in our Premier League era. With those funds, the scope for reinforcements would have been huge, and perhaps we wouldn't have been relegated if we'd built a stronger squad.

The current situation with Vipotnik made me think back to this. We might not have sold him for £20 million, but perhaps £15 million was on the table. We’ve kept him, and now he’s sitting on the bench, being largely irrelevant, and we’ve missed out on a financial opportunity that looks like it was a one-off. If that sale had gone through, maybe we’d have a couple more players in the squad and be in a stronger position.

Although I think QPR was a final wake-up call to determine whether we’re fighting for a miracle automatic promotion spot or if we need to focus on the playoffs, it’s clear the squad has improved, the business was better overall, and Matos is building something. Still, I can't help thinking that keeping Vipi might end up being the mistake of the season, and it reminds me that perhaps the exact same thing happened with Michu all those years ago.

Swansea City v West Ham United : Match Thread
at 16:53 17 Oct 2026

Without a doubt, it wasn't a good match from us. A big part of that was down to the quality of the opposition—individually, West Ham are really tough. But I think we have to look at the positives from this fixture. Firstly, Ronald put in a solid shift in a position that isn't naturally his. Secondly, Vigoroux proved once again that he's in the top 3 keepers in this league. And thirdly, and most importantly for me, we went toe-to-toe with the clear promotion favourites—a side with the most expensive squad in the league—and we managed to compete without getting steamrolled.

If we're honest, none of us expected to be playing at such a high level at the start of the season. The campaign is still young and we're right up there near the top. We can keep winning and pushing for a playoff spot at the very least, and with a bit of luck, maybe even automatic promotion. It's not the time to turn critical; it's time to keep faith that we're on the right track, even when we drop points

Swansea City v West Ham United : Match Thread

Something that captivated me from the very first moment I discovered Swansea City 15 years ago was seeing a Welsh club battling against the English powerhouses, breaking the single-country mold in a league. But more than that, this team competed with proper football against massive budgets. We created our own stars, we established our own identity—we could win or lose, but the Swansea Way was always competitive. We shouldn't fear the big bankrolls; at the end of the day, it's 11 v 11, and a clear style of play can always hold its own against money. We know how to win. This team has something special about them this season—we're at home, we're near the top of the table, the players look full of belief, the gaffer knows exactly what he wants, and in this beautiful game, anything is possible. We have to keep the faith. Even if we slip up, there's still a long way to go in this league, and if we win, it'll only boost our confidence to keep this great run going!

What a tough match—a proper physical opponent. We had chances that missed by mere centimetres, and Lissah getting booked weighed on me a bit. Yeo looked really interesting, Stewart was certainly decent, and blimey, Matos must be Ronald's lucky charm! If things keep going like this, gents, the Premier League is genuinely possible. Winning matches like this means so much more when you haven't played your best. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but it smells like a team where this could be their season and everything just keeps aligning

Swansea City v Norwich City : The Indy Match Thread
at 17:34 12 Oct 2026

Sorry for the late post with my review and reading the article—the kickoff was at 5:30 AM over here in Mexico! So I waited for the club to upload it to YouTube and stayed completely off social media so I could watch the match as if it were live.

I have to point out that before Norwich scored, we played with incredible intensity and supreme confidence. I absolutely loved the style of play; unfortunately, we just lacked that bit of sharpness in the final third to get a goal. Idah wasn't at his sharpest, but he never lost his confidence, and if we can just click on those final details, we're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Also, fair play to Norwich—they played really well. I don't think their league position does them justice because they look like a proper side.

The second half started with that same high intensity, and the confidence came straight back. That’s what stands out most about this team: they’re actually believing it now. They believe we’re top of the table and riding a great wave.

On an individual level, we've had real stability between the sticks over the last few seasons, but Vigoroux gives me a special sense of calm. Lissah—wow, what potential! What a prospect we have on our hands with him. Cabango got his confidence and level back with the national team and looked spotless. Welsh—blimey, what can you say about him? For me, he’s currently our signing of the season. It's almost scary how well he plays the ball—such a cool, composed head, the likes of which I haven't seen in a long time. Tymon was reliable as ever. Franco has had a great comeback and always brings quality. Fulton continues to surprise me; feels like he’s got a second wind and his contribution is top drawer. Widell, honestly, isn't my favourite player—I see plenty of hunger, he's an tireless engine, but at times his inaccuracy is shocking. And I don't just say that because of his mistake for the first goal, it's something that happens to him quite often, but he had a very strong second half that showed his quality—that's the Widell we brought in. Yeo looked dead quick and full of belief. Opoku wasn't at his sharpest either but still played with confidence. As for Idah, even though he could've bagged a couple more goals, he never gave up; he’s such a powerful, unique player in this league who can offer us so much.

Above all, I'd highlight the belief we show on the pitch, the intense style, the sharp short passing in triangles, the explosive long balls, and a rock-solid defence. Onwards and upwards!

Lads, it's pretty rare for me to find YouTube videos about Swansea City that are in Spanish or at least have subtitles, so I wanted to share this one I came across about the stadium. Hopefully you guys can add a bit more to this experience and share your own takes! Cheers everyone!

Swansea City, Indy exclusive : Everything ok Jeremy ?
at 19:09 26 Sep 2026

Here is the English translation, crafted to sound completely natural, fluent, and authentic for a British football forum like The Indy while maintaining your exact meaning, player references, and tactical perspective:

"I get your point, and I agree that we seem to have the best financial backing we've had since we were relegated. But out of all the wingers we have, I don't think any of them are good enough in 1-v-1 situations. I don't see them actually breaking down defences with a great piece of individual skill, and Jeremy seems to be the only one who offers something different in that regard.

I loved the article—the level of quality in the writing is incredible, without speculating or creating unnecessary drama or controversy. Things are looking promising, but we’ll definitely have to wait for more info after the international break. It is a bit worrying that we might not have him fully fit, as he’s a player who makes a real difference, but we just have to keep faith in the club

Dhanda doesn't look half bad
at 00:48 25 Sep 2026

Yesterday, during one of those boring afternoons at work where you've finished everything and just have an hour left until clocking off, I started looking up Swansea City videos and stumbled across this one of Yan Dhanda. It gave me a proper wave of nostalgia seeing that kit and the young squad we had back then. Maybe when we went down we couldn't keep hold of a squad as strong as Wolves or West Ham did, but those lads who came in, alongside the academy products, gave us some great moments. Dhanda certainly didn't look half bad. I still remember that match against Man City where they turned it around on us right at the end, after a brilliant, spectacular team goal. I also saw a few videos of Brewster, Celina, and Daniel James, and I genuinely enjoyed having them here. Then I bumped into a video titled 'Renato Sanches Skills'—what skills?! Haha! He practically did nothing over here, easily the worst YouTube video of one of our players I've ever seen

This is my very first thread since discovering this great Indy space! I stumbled across this article and didn't think it was too bad in terms of info—it makes sense on a few points and brings the added bonus of Cardiff suffering, haha! I reckon a 4th-place finish like the supercomputer predicts would be brilliant, though my actual dream is direct promotion so I don't die from the stress I'd definitely suffer in a playoff. Either way, it's nice to find articles speaking highly of the team. It's going to be a cracking derby coming up—two sides playing their own style of possession, but hopefully the Swansea Way comes out on top!

Peterborough United have sacked manager Luke Williams

I was born in Puebla, but my family grew up in Mazatlán, Sinaloa—a beautiful port city with the most attractive women in the country. The problem was that we had to relocate because of the drug cartel violence. Now we're back in Puebla city; it's got a lot of culture, colonial architecture, and above all, it's close enough to Mexico City so I can watch football frequently

It’s always sad when someone loses their job, especially in a world as tough as the one we live in today; if he changes careers, I hope things go better for him. Speaking of managers, I’ve seen plenty of comments suggesting Russell Martin wasn't everyone's cup of tea. Even if his departure wasn't handled properly, I actually had faith in the return of the Swansea Way under his possession-based style. What constantly leaves me with a massive question mark is whether some of the managers we've had would have got us promoted if they'd been given a better squad and proper backing from the owners? I’m thinking of the likes of Cooper, Russell, and Graham. After all, they went on to achieve interesting things away from Swansea. Interested to hear your thoughts, cheers!
