If the team is phased they should be electric.

When Burrell is back, are we starting with him and Kone up top
at 16:04 5 Feb 2026

Yeah, not a problem, Kone will be injured or in desperate need of a rest by the time Burrell is back, and if the latter is still on crutches, that's not going to be soon.

Brilliant idea. Although if you take it to its logical conclusion, the players and managers in this closed loop will get older and older and eventually the games will be walking football.

No way, man. We can't buy direct from Peterborough as they always pull our pants down. So now we have to wait until they've gone somewhere else.

Also in R block with an excellent view. I thought he'd flicked it but couldn't really figure out how. Ridiculous goal.

How has Varane has been keeping Field out of the team when he's not started since Varane was injured?

Regardless of whether you rate him or not, it makes no sense for either him or the club to stay here as a bit part player. I'd be very surprised if he plays for QPR again.

Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game
at 18:02 3 Feb 2026

I'd go further: all sharp objects to be removed from the training ground and players must in no circumstances be permitted to use stairs. Goal posts to be clad in scaffold foam.

Thus far we've avoided a Kevin Beattie style self-inflicted injury, but how long can that luck last?

(from Wikipedia)

"The 1976–77 season started well for Ipswich with victories over Liverpool and Manchester United. Ipswich then achieved a club record-equalling 7–0 win over West Bromwich Albion: the Albion goalkeeper John Osborne said of Beattie's long-range goal that he regarded himself as fortunate he had not touched it as it would have knocked his hand off.[35] Beattie's season was prematurely curtailed by a self-inflicted injury:[36] stoking a bonfire at his home, he decided to add petrol; the ensuing flare-up gave him serious burns to his face and neck,[37] leading to him missing six matches.[16] Before the injury, Ipswich were challenging for the league title, but, in Beattie's absence, the side lost four of their last six matches and missed out on winning the championship by five points."

Next year is going to be so tough it'll be impossible for more than two teams to go up and at least four will go down.

Just a bit of fun...10 player from the first ever 1992-93 premier league squad

When football began.

What on earth did people do on Sat afternoons before 1992?

Yeah. Immaterial if both clubs are still in the Championship next season, which they will be.

It would take something for Norwich to close the the 10 point gap, though. They are much improved, but our form would also have to dip sharply for that to happen.

The antidote – Report

Among many bonus points for this report, I'd like to pick out the Quadrophenia reference.

An expensive afternoon for me as I lost a pair of glasses somewhere between Batman Close and R block. Probably still happier than losing the game and not losing the glasses though.

I know opinions of Championship refs are low, but to suggest refs base decisions on the offender rather than the offence is taking it too far.

January transfer rumours

If that were true then Field would have been in the starting line up since Varane got injured, and he hasn't been.

Ian Holloway Rant - Enjoy

Perhaps he's redirecting his anger at a player being found to have committed a sexual assault. If it were me, that's who I'd be angry at, and he wouldn't be playing for me ever again. Anywhere but a football pitch that's a serious offence that would result in being placed on the sex offenders register. I don't know why footballers are allowed to get away with it.

Sent to Coventry (hopefully not again) QPR vs Coventry Match Thread

Noticeable that numerous times when Bennie had the ball on the wing he turned back instead of taking on his opponent. Not that he was getting much help with an offered overlap.
