But he picks up an injury that should be two weeks Is occasionally on the bench, only to have another injury, so we are told, which he recovers from, is on the bench again unused, then we are told he is injured once more.
How do you explain that ??
Personally, would move on. The guy whose injury he was meant to cover, has been injured three times and returned from those injuries three times and this guy has still not come on.
He was on the bench on Saturday. Perfect opportunity to give him a run out but wasnt chosen. Thats very strange.
Not exactly a great stretch to feel this isnt going to work.
Feel for him - yes - but how is this positive in anyways.
Even if he does get "fit", he is fifth choice behind Burrell, Kone, Kolli and Lloyd [Post edited 25 Oct 23:04]

Are we actually sure he is injured though Bosh. Personally I think possibly we maybe looking at a Taylor Richards style issue as he is permanently, despite being fit and then instantly getting an injury.
I very much doubt he will achieve anything here or even get onto the field of play.
For me, it seems sensible to come to some kind of mutual agreement. Kind to both parties. Sad, but it does happen. Probably best for all though
Maybe he can get going somewhere a little further down the food chain. |

Fantastic losses - first such turnarounds I experienced in my lifetimes of watching was Botham's Ashes of 1981.
Appreciate not the same with ODI's but severely impressive to lose two such games consecutively from positions of near invincibility.

Player Power Bosh absolutely
Although the term player is used loosely with regards to this bunch of misfits.
When the players down tools as this team has consistently done, many of them remain in their jobs and the manager is ousted.
If I was a United fan, I would vote with my feet about them and not turn up. You will never see that at United - full house every game - no matter what the team ethic is or is not.
Its a rancid environment there and the first one they need to ditch is Bruno Fernandes - admittedly he is their best player by a country mile - but the fact now Amorin and now Carrick likely to go, simply because the players say NO.
We dont have that culture at our club but an outfit such as United - should not tolerate this, but they do. They are on a one way street to nowhere. Serves them all right.
But a sobering thought all the same for clubs like ours that have been there, seen it, got the tee shirt and come out the other side.... |

It was a weird signing done in haste.
Could not get in the Lincoln side where Alfie Lloyd was more favoured by fans.
Never picked for dev squad or first team. Wonder what length his contract is. We always seem to have the need for one of these type signings in our squad. Suggests other issues, so hope the player himself is reasonably well in himself, but feel an agreement needs to be taken to move the player on elsewhere or compromise on a contract end, so all can move on.
Can't see this player ever representing us unfortunately - whatever the reasons are.

It reminds me of our "TEAM" of overpaid misfits and has beens.
A lot of these players stop playing if they want to get rid of the manager. Thats an absolute disgrace.
Fernandes publicly criticising the manager should never be done so all can see. Behind closed doors - fair enough - but saying to players - ignore the boss - its a one way ticket to nowhere.
Probably Carrick goes and stop, rinse and repeat happens again and again.
What a shame !!!!!

Think the key factor in the improvement in these four players PH, is that they have been coached by Julien Stephan.
Even Chair, I remember commented that Stephans training sessions and ways ofnlooking at the game were something very new to him and he said were the best he had ever experienced.

He intercepted a couple of early Swansea attacks in the first 20 minutes. Thought that aspect of his game yesterday was decent.
But joking aside a referee can generally be seen to be decent if he isnt the star of the show. ie if he/she is almost unnoticeable and the game flows.
Also, it helps massively also if your team is three nil up after 14 minutes. One's assessment of a referee has a tendency to be favourable in such scenarios.. |

Its the first time, it has happened. And half the responses in this thread are begrudgingly thankful or impressed by whats happened.
Some people wont ever like him, even if we got to the premier league and stayed there. They would still not be in support of him. And mainly because they dont really like him as a person rather than they dont like the processes he uses and how he operates to get results.
Its clearly obvious to me. And some people on here who think like this, some have said this also.
They will say the jury is still out as nothing has changed or improved as yet. But if they are honest, any success he achieves will hit this narrative because they would rather someone else was in his job.
He wouldn't be in my group of friends, but if he is getting the results, then for me that matters not a jot. Couldn't care less if he is in my friendship circle.
Doing an excellent job for me and also learning from the mistakes along the way. To stick to your beliefs when you get criticism from aĺl quarters, takes the possession of a Rhino's skin, which most do not have the abilities to not be affected from the abuse.

Normally 60 minutes in, we make two or three changes, often seemingly for the sake of it.
Am glad we waited a few more minutes, as the old adage - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it "
And at 4 nil up, we brought on three very attack minded players in Saito, Dembele and Kolli. No thought to shoring up shop. We scored again and probably should have got a couple more
Nice to see Isak get on as well as Cirkin too.

A lot of Southampton fans on our train all laughing at us predicting doom for us next week. They had quite a result at West Ham today.
Be nice if Handsome Ronnie puts a couple of goals past them next week. Tbf though, they are my bet for the title.

The guy gets little credit from several on here, but as said midweek, we win and his name is never mentioned. We lose and somehow he totally gets pelters.
I find it all very strange.
Was a great line up at half time. Nourry was there with Clarke Carlisle, Mark Lazurus's son and Gerry Francis too to give Andy Sinton thanks for being an incredible ambassador for the club.
A nice touch too.
Said midweek, three years ago, we were watching Ainsworth's team playing awful football, losing ten and more home games in the season miraculously survive relegation when facing total oblivion with an ageing squad.
Yes there is always the concerns over injuries and currently we have many and yet today we totally annhilated the league leaders. And what is encouraging we now have one of the youngest squads in the championship.
The appointments of Cifuentes and now Stephan have both been successes, particularly after the previous three of Beale, Critchley and Ainsworth.
A lot has been made of his age and lack of previous experience, but again you can't really complain about a definite upward trajectory in most areas of the club. Even the communication with the fans has been addressed too. Definitely learning from mistakes quickly.
If somehow, we get less injuries also, then there are really zero reasons for frustrations.
Clearly a very intelligent man with a belief in himself, but saying all this, we lose five nil at Southampton, there will be countless comments on here about all that is wrong with the man.
Its a shame really that a lot of the fanbase are yet to warm to him and a lot never will. Yes, personality wise, he is not one of us and think that could be the issue for a few. And he has helped with excellent recruitment in all areas of the club, made some tough choices like letting go club favourite Paul Furlong go and not appointing a club legend in Charlie Austin for a youth coaching role. No room for sentiment. All decisions for the long term future of the club.
If I ever hear Christian Nourrys name sung in the Loft, then blooming heck, that would be a total shock.

Such a likeable player by teammates and fans also.
Loves the club and his pride for this club, has helped others feel this could be a special place for them too. The more players get genuine enjoyment out of their football here, the more they will perform.
If I was a manager in any workplace and you have a range of characters to show the way to and you had to have a certain mixture of people, characters such as Paul Smyrh are the key factors in any motivated workforce.
Best ever at double somersaults in the clubs history also.

At Rennes he improved young players such as Ousamana Dembele, Camavinga, Jeremy Doku, Mathys Tel, Raphina and Desire Doue.Thats some list of names in their very young lives as football players. Being the son of a very successful French National Team Assistant manager too.
Realistically, am surprised his light shone so far under the radar of most and even many of our own fans, even today have reservations. I think his most important quality is he can really improve some players, almost beyond recognition.
Smyth, Adamson and Madsen are standouts in terms of improvement. Am hopeful that Dembele, Saito and Poku could do likewise. Mbengue has done well mostly and Kemper has been exactly what you want from a left back. Hopefully Burrell and Kone can keep fit and do likewise. Then you have someone like Alfie Lloyd who is definitely getting the most out of his abilities also.Another who I personally think he is managing well also is Kolli. Using tough love there and again think its the right call. Dunne and JCS also performing and Ronnie in some games is definitely the Rolls Royce. Appreciate Charles may well have done as well with anyone but Stephan is the one that has said to him, if you think you can pull off that long pass - do it and do it, he has.
Was another who was a bit depressed by the negativity after Birmingham. Yes the injuries have been bad, undoubtedly but there were a few very reactionary negative posts about us, once more finishing 15th and 16th.
Am expecting a few more, if we lose 4 nil to Southampton next weekend.
All though, I can say today is brilliant. Loved it today.
Bloke near me mentioned the 4 nil win inspired by Adel in his season and what an individual performance he gave that day. Today was all round briliiance.
