He looks, talks and acts more and more like a Harry Enfield character every day. And to think he only used to have it in SaintNick. Now everyone is fair game for the crazy bastards vent. |

Is he already here now? Or is he applying/enquiring out of country? I’m not being arsey, genuinely trying to offer advice to your friend. He needs to get an appointment as soon as possible with CAB. Housing is based on local connection and yes, he is possibly likely to get emergency accommodation, however that doesn’t necessarily mean a hostel. If you know a landlord who is willing to accept Jim without a deposit and can provide you with rent agreement etc, Housing Benefit will kick in. The council has few properties so if an individual can liaise by themselves (or with help from friends) and the rent meets the financial threshold for his circumstances, single male etc, then it’s a fairly straight forward process. As I say though, you can’t do anything until he presents himself at their council. |

Your friend won’t be able to do anything until he’s in the country. Rather than going to GB News, reform etc, they would need to present themselves at their nearest housing team, its Gateway in Southampton civic centre, if he’s local. I don’t know his circumstances, but try to get an appointment with Citizen’s Advice who can support/advise on any benefits he will be entitled to (and he will be entitled to it providing he has an NI number and can prove who he is). |

The Farm with 808 state at the Royal Court, Liverpool. I went to the gig after Everton had got beat by United at Goodison. Place was packed full of mancs, naively I didn’t have a clue about the ecstasy scene and was surprised to see everyone getting on so well. |

My brother gets offered tickets for every City game, more for midweek games, as he’s a coach for a youth team up there (he actually coached a very young Foden). He can’t give the tickets away, loads of empty seats all over the show. |

Rumours abound they are about to go into administration. They were financially in breach more than Everton but were given less of a punishment, Forest almost had double of Everton’s breach and got more than half of the punishment. And as others have said, City’s case has never been resolved and I doubt ever will. |

I don’t think there is anything unusual about teams buying young talent and not throwing them straight into the first team, it’s been happening for years. Forest signed both McAtee and Hutchinson for big money, neither of them are much game time. Spurs did it with Archie Gray. Brentford bought Lewis-Potter for big money and phased him into the team/club. It’s a bit easy to say Dibling would have been better off staying at Saints and getting games in the Championship. Maybe a few years ago, but Saints had just come off one of their worst seasons ever, hired a very inexperienced manager, having had what was it, three/four managers the previous season. Even the new big thing for Saints, Jay Robinson, hasn’t been getting much game time this season. At least at Everton, he has consistency with managers and coaches and he’s training and playing with much better players. And he’s still only 19. |

You’re probably right. The glass ceiling of the PL with the introduction of changes to the CL to give the snidey few even more revenue and the application of PSR to only a few means for most clubs the hope is to have at least one good season now and then. Look at Palace, it’s fantastic what they’ve achieved and now they are being dismantled. Villa are doing incredible to keep in touch with the snides largely down to Emery being an incredible manager. But it is becoming more and more tedious. |

Everton built a stadium, creating loads of job, regenerating an entire area of the city but their accountant owner messed up the accounts getting Everton an unprecedented punishment from the coonts at the FA, nearly ruining the club and the community. City were given a stadium and surrounding area due to the commonwealth games, got new owners and have spent ridiculous amounts of money without any regulation despite their 115 charges that will never see a conclusion. Definitely not the City equivalent. |

Unfortunately for Dibling, both wide roles and been taken by Grealish and Ndiaye who are two of Everton’s best players. He did play very well in two games over Christmas against Burnley and Forest but then was poor in a very poor performance against Brentford. He will get game time from now until the end of the season, but this Everton team is very much a work in progress and he is still a very young player. |
 | Forum Reply | Tyler Dibling at 10:48 27 Jan 2026
If he was an 19 year old lad from Everton’s academy lashed on chasing the game as was last night, people would have been pleased with his contribution. I think he will come good as Everton settle down and they have more, better players particularly at full back where Everton have been weak all season thus he hasn’t been getting as many games. |
 | Forum Reply | Tyler Dibling at 06:23 27 Jan 2026
I think this is a lot of Everton fans take on it too. Moyes is known to hold players back and ease them in and talked about it on the week, he did the same with Baines, Jagielka and Lescott. Bought them all, but didn’t play them for months whilst they settled in. He’s done the same with Aznou, Rolfe and Dibling. It’s not helped Dibling Everton having no decent full backs, an area where they need to prioritise next. 40 million does seem a lot and maybe Everton have been had off, but time will tell. This time last season he was playing on a team on six points under the guidance of Russell Martin. Everton aren’t the finished article by a long way, but it’s a good environment for him to develop and hopefully reach his potential. |
 | Forum Reply | Armando Broja at 12:28 8 Jan 2026
Broja has an exceptionally low pain threshold, I don’t think his body is designed for professional sport as a minor injury keeps him out for months. I’d wager he hasn’t played many games over the years yet he has made a ridiculous amount of money. |

That was heads and volleys in Liverpool or 60 seconds. You had 60 seconds to score one, then start again if you scored, then two goals, three goals etc. When the 60 seconds were up (the goalie had to shout out the seconds, often being accused of going too fast and having to go back a few), the game only ended when the goalie caught the ball from a cross or a shot with the outfield player touching the ball last going in goal. It was brutal. Often the fat kid would go first in goal and in the extra time bit would be subjected to one player flicking it up and the one with the hardest shot viciously smashing blammers towards the goal. Great days. Kids wouldn’t have a clue these days. |

You’re right, it’s not just football, it’s life now with many going through life disgruntled, privileged and expectant, wanting everything their own way and their own terms and not giving a flying phuck about others. Football fans at the highest level have become customers, consumers. And when they don’t get the standard that they expect/demand/feel entitled to, act like petulant kids. You only have to look at how Man United and Liverpool fan react a defeat online. It’s embarrassing. Proper first world problems and look at me, look at me cry arsing. They haven’t got a clue. |

The standard in both primary and secondary schools were always quite high so my position throughout school was non impact/unused sub (the Tyler Dibling of the day, so to speak). As I got older and reverted to five a side, I played on goal and was fairly decent. I’ve got a Saints match day programme at home with a picture of me in full Anti Niemi kit playing in nets fo Saints foundation. Ankle and hand injuries mean that I haven’t kicked a ball in anger for about 8 years. |

Liverpool fans had no restrictions before or after the games at Goodison, that’s bizarrely only reserved for those nasty pasty Everton fans. It will be interesting to see how it works at the new ground as there will definitely be a ‘coming together’ as there’s only one way in really. I’d imagine it will be a see how it goes for the first time. |

You won’t see many half and half scarves at a Merseyside derby, apart from the tourist reds at Anfield. The Anfield derby is a very strange one these days. Everton fans get kettled by the police into the ground and kept back after the game to allow the home fan to get their coaches home via the sovenir shop. The atmosphere in the game itself is really low key and somewhat sanitised with the tourists not really seeing Everton as a rival. Goodison derbys were different, pissed up bear pits which is what derbies should be. You rarely saw a red in the Everton ends in the past 10 years and when they were, it kicked off. It will interesting to see what it will be like at BMD with reds possibly getting the seat unique expensive seats that you don’t need to be a member for. |

Would have liked to have gone on Friday but had to drive back home for the Forest game. Which of their best songs did they not do? |

It’s a fantastic stadium, absolutely love it. Every match day is a big event, linked so closely to town. The bars near the ground are starting to feel like home too now. Hopefully Saints will play there next season. |
