football nostalgia related, i have got back into SUBBUTEO ( anyone has any spares let me know) finally managed to complete a stadium and some teams go for a fair few quid, Scottish clubs can go for 100+ quid and there is a Rimini team on ebay now already at 300quid!!
i suppose what ticks your box, train sets, stickers, star wars, action man etc
i remember the footy cards in 70s that came with an awful chewing gum but we all swapped em in the playground and id did try panini but few ever got the book filled.

if we could ever have got 10 games in a row from him he may have been a decent goal scorer but was ever injured and broke down often, even the RAC could not get him going.

the worst was the trek back to the tube after the oxford debacle, the game we dare not mention ( but i did) the shock i recall seeing 100s of hats, scarves tossed away in ground and it didn't sink in. i got near home, kentish town and saw my bruv in law, he'd been too, we were stunned couldn't say much i couldn't drown my sorrows . losing afinal is awful. but 82 replay i was so proud of us, 2nd div v a top spurs team, and we were robbed many of my mates were spurs , none took the pee they knew we were good.

why did JS not sub Mbengue , he was on a yellow, weak ref, we had options, manage the game, secure the win and we blew it. stupid effing needless tackle and to conceded 2 in mins? not good enough, we caved |

saw it on sky sports news, crazy , just back from 10 game ban for proven racism, now nuts a player in face, triggers a mass brawl? if he gets a 3 natch ban he is lucky, could be 5 or more given the track record. nearing 20 match bans already, in half a season!! |

sky commentators said his knee popped out? but didn't show replay, which i think is ok. it took ages to attend him and get him stretchered off but in those cases, no rush and they add time on.
hope he recovers asap. |

pouring rain, strong winds, poor ref ( he lost it 2nd half) not exactly ideal for entertaining footy but a game there for the taking. walsh made a top save to keep us 0-0 in 2nd half and injuries pile up .
gotta say well done to those who went , very loud on tv and little to rouse us. |

tip for anyone going to the OXFORD casino stadium! if getting cab from town, make sure you book to kassam or oxford united stadium, if you say oxford, they may take you to oxford city ground! it happened to us last season !
2-1 qpr win and we nick the mild cup back too! |

for me the attraction is the maverick players, didn't they seem older then? old refs? but it is the classic shirts, the designs were great , no ads/sponsors , terraces , poor pitches , jumpers for goal posts and if mum calls last goal wins! |

dont watch afcon, only know what happened due to sports reports but for me if the team leave the pitch , without agreement of ref and due to a disputed penalty, and stay off pitch for 10+ mins, they should forfeit the match. weak ref and what rules do they follow? a pub league game would have been abandoned and game awarded to the team who stayed on pitch willing to finish.
FIFA will investigate and deduct the guilty party many points, so unlucky QPR. |

well before game i thought we would lose 3-0, due to a weak injury stricken team, maybe tired legs after extra time v west ham ?
a 3rd choice goalie, teenagers and seeing all the possession they had to get a 0-0 seems very decent to me. well done to those who went too.
as for play offs, well it looks harder with 7? out , some for months? it is a slog now but always hope, other teams will have issues, injuries, suspensions, games off and then fixture backlog and still a long way to go.
one team always makes a late run to nick 6th spot , going forward with momentum and they can be dangerous, we are in a clutch of teams thinking it could be us. |

people pay for these thru taxes and local taxes, many have paid into the system so should get their pass, what some may not know is the freedom pass has a rose on it, this means it is available on most buses in england not just london . may oaps use theirs to take grandkids to school so mum and dad can work and not ponce off the state , and you get all transport on the "connections map@ including national rail, my staff pass doesn't , i think they should keep it .
