How, our allocation should be around the 36,000 mark, (last year Coventry City were given 36,237) so if it is the same all our ST holders and all members with any recent ticket buying history should be OK. As for when, I'd expect Salisbury Saint to let us all know what's what as soon as he gets the info. If you fancy treating yourself, Club Wembley are doing a one-off Diamond Package corporate with a three course buffet pre-match and inclusive booze for a mere £499 pp, or if there's 8, 12 or 20 of you then there's a private box option at £599 pp which given the price of the Diamond Package buffet is not that much of a price hike, albeit from a robust starting point. |

Good question, even with the equivalent of a golf handicap in the form of a 4 point deduction for Forest and an 8 point deduction for Everton none of the promoted teams from last season managed to avoid the trap door back to the Championship. Considering the money sloshing around in the PL perhaps the time has come to give promoted teams a ‘Golden Hello’ in the form of a substantial one-off additional payment to assist with the cost of recruiting the quality of players needed to survive. Controversial some will say but if the situation has now got to this stage where to survive you have to break the financial rules and then take the hit like Forest have done then surely something needs to be done to help the promoted Clubs as trying to regulate the spending at clubs like Citeh and other so called elite clubs will always be doomed to fail as they will always find a way round it. Or, as in Citeh’s case get charged with over 100 breaches of the financial regs then nothing happens… |

As already stated, the United fans were not the nicest of people back in 76, saw one get his comeuppance after the game, he was being chased across the car park by the police and to increase his chances of getting away he started to run across the roofs of parked cars, all went well until he went through the roof of a Triumph Stag convertible and broke his leg! Carted off screaming in agony by the police. Also remember the trip back down the M3 with those bridges packed with fans and locals who just came out to applaud. Every supporter’s car had silk scarves or bar scarves out of at least two windows. Never felt that sense of camaraderie you get inside a ground on a motorway before or since. Best banner: Yellow & blue verses Manchester WHO?? Longest few minutes of my life between Stokesey’s goal and the final whistle! ‘Colemanballs’ commentary moment (from the man himself) picked up on years after the event from watching a VHS tape of the game: as the final whistle blew David Coleman said as the camera zoomed in on our keeper, “Ian Turner, one of eleven children who started the game nervously, has ended up a winner” So,Hansen, you never win anything with kids, eh?? 😀 Good old Coleman, bless him. Then Mick Channon’s testimonial on the Monday night, that was something else! Never seen so many people crammed into The Dell, watched it all from the front row of one of the Milton Road chocolate boxes. A great evening to follow a great day. 48 years ago to the minute, we’d not long scored the winner. Happy memories 😀⚽️😀 [Post edited 2 May 0:49]

Think this is a bit unfair to Nick. Not for the first time in recent seasons, for a lot of people, a managerial appointment was somewhat underwhelming; at the time of the appointment there were plenty of detractors, the volume of negative noise increased as a result of our run of back to back September defeats v Sunderland / Leicester/ Ipswich / Boro - through all of this Nick pleaded with all of us on multiple occasions to give RM a chance. He rightly stated that RM had walked into a chaotic situation that couldn’t resolve itself quickly especially whilst the transfer window was still open. Even after that it would take time so the message to everyone was give RM a chance. Easy to say in hindsight, I was one of those underwhelmed by the appointment and unconvinced that tippy tippy is the way to win promotion. But, I gave RM a chance. For a while it looked like I was wrong to doubt him. That said, look at us now - unrecognisable… I think a fair degree of the criticism is now justified as we have a group of players that should be capable of so much more - yes, we could still get promotion but if we do, without being uncharitable, I would contend the achievement would be despite RM not because of him. |

Very good point re Wilcox. Perhaps it might hinge on who replaces Wilcox. I just hope we stop trying to be Man City minus the billions and as you say go for a far more pragmatic approach by accepting the realism what we are and where we are. |

Say we get to Wembley (I’ll pause for a minute whist you pick yourself back up off of the floor)…… OK now? and the game goes to extra time! Bear in mind four or five of our better players will have been subbed off and the rest are not fit enough. I reckon we could be overrun. Probably won’t come to that anyway. |

I stand to be corrected on this if I am wrong but wasn’t it SR who decided as a result of their period of self reflection after relegation that the club was now going to adopt this supposedly exciting new direction of possession based football, as Peter Kay said about garlic bread, it’s the future. If I am correct, if they do bin BBB (had enough of his press conferences so he’s been upgraded from the Brighton Buddha to the Bulls@@@ting Brighton Buddha) SR will only appoint like for like IF I am correct in recalling what was said after last season ended. Totally agree re Cooper, what a breath of fresh air that would be. Also agree if we don’t get him in there will be plenty of other takers. If Ipswich go up auto and Leeds blow the play offs I can see them taking him. If Forest fail to stay up I can see them taking him back as Nuno has been underwhelming. As usual we will either stick with BBB or miss out on the best replacements, it’s the Southampton way don’t you know 🙂⚽️😢 |

Good point, where are they? If we go up we face another summer of upheaval as we’d need a lot of new players to stand any chance of not being next season’s Sheffield Utd. Don’t see our Academy players getting much of a look in if that happens . If we don’t go up we still face another summer of upheaval but the difference being it would make sense to give the likes of Dibling, Amo and perhaps Meghoma a chance to prove themselves. Also, what has happened to the two young players signed from Arsenal and Chelsea? the Arsenal one in particular was supposed to have massive potential. I think the thing is since we were producing the likes of Walcott, Bale, Dyer, Ox, Shaw, Lallana ect, the so called big clubs have upped their game and have scouts / recruiters everywhere and are simply hoovering up all the best talent from under our and everyone else’s noses. Just a thought, perhaps what we are left with just isn’t the same standard anymore thanks to the likes of the PL clubs in Lindon and beyond who recruit far more aggressively in our back yard than they did say 15 years ago… |
