| Forum Reply | The 2024/25 Fixtures Are Out For Saints at 09:45 19 Jun 2024
In all the times I have watched Saints play at Goodison, I've never seen us win and I still have the scars from that semi final defeat at Highbury. All that said I have a bit of a soft spot for Everton as some of my family members are Evertonians. All being well I will try to be there for the last game at Goodison, expected to be surrounded by Evertonians who have paid mega amounts of money from Saints fans who have sold their tickets. That's why I expect Saints to take a full allocation It might be worthwhile considering taking something blue into the ground as in the unlikely event we did beat or relegate Everton on the day then the reaction is unlikely to be hospitable. |

Actually saw the Soul Agents at Sarisbury Green Youth Club also Dave Dee and the Bostons, later known as Dave Dee, Dozy, Mick & Titch and the Transatlantics plus other local groups who all had limited repertoires and equipment but nevertheless provided entertainment for us youngsters. |

I dont think statues are required. Perhaps nice large framed photos of players who have achieved something for the club displayed on a wall outside the ground with details of their achievements |

Anyone know when the rest of the ground prices will be known now that the Northam Kop has sold out? |

I am of a certain age and did my bit singing and shouting from the, often wet, terracing back in my younger days. I need forgiveness for not having the capacity to provide the same level of support at my current stage of life and indeed feel more nervous about the outcome nowadays. That said I let it all come out at the final whistle and ended up rather hoarse. |

I have been a Saints fan for many, many years. There are a lot of great memories and even more disappointments. A list of the highlights below, in no particular order> 1. Coming back from 3-0 down as a 2nd Tier club to draw 3-3 with 1st Division Nottm Forest in the FA Cup in 1963. The Dell was alive!! 2. Travelling up to White Hart Lane with around 40,000 Saints fans to see us wipe the floor with Forest in the 2nd Re-play, 5-0. 3. Effectively winning our first promotion at Brisbane Rd in a 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient. 4. Beating Palace at Stamford Bridge to reach Wembley for the first time 5. Winning the FA Cup v Man Utd in 1976. Fantastic day and aftermath. 6. MLT's late goal v Arsenal, last game at The Dell 7. Winning the JPT in front of 54,000+ Saints at Wembley 8. Being part of 7,000+ Saints fans in the San Siro. 9. The recent WBA game 10. And to top it all, the atmosphere and result yesterday. Absolutely top drawer> Well done all who contributed. |
| Forum Reply | Coaches to Wembley at 15:56 27 May 2024
One of the strange things that I observed on my coach trip to Wembley yesterday was the presence of around a dozen, mainly 50+ year old men, writing down coach details as we arrived at the stadium. I am well aware that there have always been train spotters but didnt realise there was an equivalent band of enthusiasts with a similar interest in coaches. The coach journey was OK there and back but the a/c was rather chilly and for those with a weak bladder, the lack of on onboard toilet and no stopping there and back was a challenge. But overall, a great day!! |

Anyone going up to Wembley by coach. Understand those organised by the club are leaving later than originally planned |

Chivers was a top player. Power and pace and was a record transfer when leaving for Spurs and an England International to boot.. |

It should be noted too that there are two big cruise ships in on Sunday and a fair proportion of the passengers will be heading for Southampton Central with loads of luggage. I bet they wont be expecting loads of Saints fans vying for space. |

Jeff Kenna Gareth Bale/Ox/Walcott (as mentioned) Rod Wallace Martin Chivers Nathan Tella (probably didnt play 10 games) |

When we went up to to the Carlisle & Man Utd games there were around 100 coaches laid on. Whats the situation this time round? |

Couple of other things I can remember, walking back to where our car was parked (which you couldnt do nowadays) and finding someone waiting for his mates to return to the adjacent car. Got talking to the lad and found out he had sat next to me in the 3rd Rd Replay at Villa Park!! When the final whistle went an older chap in front of me raised his arms aloft and said.. 'Thank you Lord, I never thought this would happen, you can take me now'... |
| Forum Reply | Everton Loaned More Money at 11:16 1 May 2024
The new Everton Stadium could possibly go the same way as the one in Valencia which started in 2007 and was to be 80,000 capacity. Still unfinished due to financial problems and on a regular basis the capacity becomes reduced, now around 50,000. I wonder what the building contractors view is? If I was a contractor I would want guaranteed money upfront before doing any more work. All that said, it will be a great stadium for Everton but how much the financial burden will affect their ability to attract decent players is another matter. Puts our £30m to build SMS into some sort of perspective and I suppose Rupert Lowe and his sidekick and Southampton Council deserve a bit of credit for this. |

Who was there 48 years ago on that brilliant sunny day when we sang ...'Docherty shut your mouth as the Cup is coming South...la la la la la la la la...? |
| Forum Reply | Stadium Update Meeting at 10:20 14 Apr 2024
I wonder what will happen to the location of the buses that run to/from the area around the industrial estate to the IOW Terminal and Central Station?? Quite a few supporters walk over Itchen Bridge and they will be in direct conflict with away fans accessing their new location. The Chapel Arms and pubs around Ocean Village/Canute Rd will be 'interesting' locations if the new plans go forward. Myself and four of my season ticket pals will definitely be reviewing our plans to renew next season. btw, if we dont go up this season and lose quite a few of our better players, I think the expectation of a healthy season ticket renewal uptake may be rather optimistic, especially as some of us may have to pay more to contribute to lower prices in the revamped Northam end. |

I appreciate there are different views expressed on here re MLT but I went to a charity bash in town last night, organised by Nicky Banger and involving MLT, Mark Wright, Mark Dennis and Perry Groves. MLT came across as a decent fella as did the other ex players and helped raise a few thousand quid for the charities. Mark Wight and Denno both said that from all the clubs they played for Saints was the best which was encouraging to hear, especially from Mark Wright who went on to play for Liverpool. Some interesting 'behind the scenes' tales were told!!! |

Feel sorry for the fans assaulted in Rome. BHA took around 3k to the game whereas our turnout was around the 7k mark. Well done us!! |
