Eggheads at Cambridge university are currently getting full chub ons whilst observing the distant planet of K-2-18B (not the catchiest name) through the Webb telescope as they believe this is the closest they’ve ever been to answer the question-is there life out there?

It is thought to be a Hycean planet which is a predominantly hydrogen atmosphere with a liquid water ocean but the exciting part is they believe they have detected a significant amount of a gas called Dimethyl Sulfide there which is only produced by living organisms here on Earth.

Further observations will follow to determine more about this world but could have huge ramifications to our own world and history. So far the Pope, senior rabbis, the Dalai Lama and the leaders of Hamas have yet to comment.

This observation really will cause an earthquake in religious circles.
Don’t forget Phosphine on Venus….allegedly….which could mean ET is a bit closer than we thought.

If found they'll be sent to Rwanda.

It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. - Carl Sagan

In religious circles earthquakes are caused by god and his anger towards homosexuals.

Back to actual science, it’s inevitable that there is life out there but where is it?

On the basis of sheer mathematical probability alone it's effectively impossible that out of the countless billions of planets out there, this one is the only one where life has evolved, especially if you consider the sheer variety of life that comes with it when it does.

Whether that life has in most cases progressed past very basic forms or if your Star Trek/Star Wars type advanced civilisations exist is another matter.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

ET always comes after 90 minutes. VAR (virtual alien repellant) doesn't help.

If they actually find life some religin or other will claom their god created it.

Tom Cruise and his mates did that years ago 🙄 Last thing I want is his smug face on tv saying I told you so etc. Bad enough my wife insists on watching Mission Impossible 48 …and any future ones!

There has to be. The chance of life only occurring on this one tiny speck of dust amongst the trillions of galaxies is minuscule.

Whether we ever find it is another story.
