it was vital we got odenwingie for me once we went down this routh as he was idea to play as back up to remy and even in support out wide
still feel the same about zamorra as well he made a massive difference when he came on but still cant even play 45 mins let alone 90 and god help us if he breaks down

Won the penalty yes, but didnt cause Norwich any other problems.
He just doesn't know the role of centre forward, doesn't hold it up, doesn't make intelligent runs. The only thing he specialises in is chasing down, today for the first time in about two months he contributed something by doing just that.
It is not enough for him to be a regular starter. |  |

We have no scouting network. We had two potential Premier league forwards coming last Thursday whose clubs know we are desperate and can charge what they want. Look at Newcastle who seem to know about signing bargains. We gazumped them for Remy but he is injured now. Things are not looking good long term. |  | | |

Mackie was shocking first half, its not lack of work rate etc, but for someone who considers himself a striker his movement and awareness of space is shocking, a number of times Adel got the ball in a good area and Mackie failed to make a run that would either create space for himself or pull some defenders away from Taarabt. I felt at half time both teams could play until 5pm and still not score.
I dont believe it was for the want of trying on the striker front. I cant understand why we would let DJ go but he or his agent has clearly has done something recently to upset HR |  | | |

This post is not supposed to be a dig about Mackie. It's more about the state of our squad yet again especially with the money we have spent.

It's hard to knock Mackie because he tries so hard, but he really isn't premier league standard.
His lack of movement and thought on more than one occasion in the second half was frustrating.

I think to be fair he had a much better 2nd half, I dont know about anyone else but I looked at that team and said to the guy next to me I could not see a goal unless it was Samba from a set piece.

The point is we could have gone for Becchio and Austin but we left it too late. Remy is a good player but this injury is a big concern and leaves us bare. Bothroyd isn't a natural scorer, Zamora looked okay today but can't play 45 minutes, Mackie works hard but he's not a natural striker. DJ is a natural striker, in the 25 man named squad and... not on the bench. We also have youth players like Frankie Sutherland and Mo Sharif who score regularly for the U21s. Why do they never get a bench place? |  |

This is not about Mackie, it's about Warnock, Hughes and Redknapp attempting to keep QPR in the Premier League by buying players in the January window.
This started long ago and may take years to sort out unless Harry and this bunch of players perform what's increasingly looking like miracles.
It's not over yet, but every-time we sense an improvement the bad and or desperate decision's takes it away.

You also have to wonder why we left it to the last minute to buy Samba. By his own admission he is only 40% fit as he hasn't played since November due to the Russian mid winter break. Surely we should have got him the minute the window opened as we knew we needed a CB. Had we done that we would have had him for a few more games and he would be fully fit now. |  | | |

This post was never meant to be anti Mackie. We all know his limitations but at the same time we all love his effort and passion.
My original point was slating the club ownership and management (as another post mentioned, over the last 2 seasons).

the ones that are ,are because the keepers cheated and moved or the taker has not struck it well,taarabt always strokes his apart from that chipped one but by stroking it he's counting on the keeper going wrong way or placing it right in the corner today neither of those two things happend hence the save (good save as it was)
