Too many times his first touch is way heavy and goes too far away from himself, showing the ball, and letting players get challenges in to win the ball or disrupt the play. Then he goes all histrionic hence the fouls etc. Watch him he’s always looking for the foul when he loses the ball. Way too melodramatic at times and playing the victim.
He makes problems with his first touch and hence went into pressure and then initiate, using acceleration, something towards the area the defender is arriving in.
No penalty. INMO😃
Owen used to take heavy touches to goad defenders and keepers into areas and then used his turn of pace. That ain’t happening with Smythe. [Post edited 2 Feb 1:29]

Thoroughly enjoyable.
At times a bit League 2 head tennis but still moments of clever, thoughtful football. Our first goal just opened them up. Coventry decent team and players just low on confidence and ideas when things got tricky.
Stéphan mentioned ambition well let them play and get on the front foot monsieur. |

Got about 10 inches followed by freezing rain.
Brought a snow blower 8 yrs ago and never needed it. New experience for me going up and down the street today. My god it’s fing cold as well.

Hearing lots of reasons about our lamentable displays of late or excuses.
Thing is are we not a very good again, especially after an optimistic transfer policy that honestly have been upgrades or the current manager can not seem get a tune out of them.

Personally I think at times we’re to easy to play against. We have been figured out or negated too many times.
