 | Forum Thread | Christian Nourry - Two Year Anniversary at 10:32 27 Jan 2026
I believe it’s two years this month since Christian Nourry took over the helm at QPR. I thought it would make an interesting midweek thread on what the thoughts were of progress so far. Personally I am in the cup is half full camp and believe we have turned the ship and are now heading in the right direction below are some main pointers from me: Positives Squad - Recruitment has improved and we now have the best squad we have had for years and it seems a good blend of youth and experience and looks a much happier dressing room. For the first time in years we have players who are now worth looking at for teams higher up the food chain. We are not (yet) in a relegation battle and still with an outside chance of the play offs. Manager - Maybe divides opinion but I’m still happy with the progress we are making under Julien Stephan who was a thoughtful choice and the same profile to continue the work done by Marti. Academy - Plans to upgrade to Cat 1. Seems to be a positive move although only time will tell on this one. School End - Removal of away fans from lower tier and having our own fans there seems to have certainly helped improve our home form. Negatives Better communication with fans. Good to see we are now communicating better with injuries but maybe more sessions with fan groups. Performance team - This does need to improve the overall condition of our players compared to other clubs does by the naked eye seems very poor not just the injuries but the overall fitness of the team. Pitch - God knows what happened there, it would be good if the club could let us know what the problem was and what is being done to fix it. Finally a big shout out to our owners who continue to write the cheques to keep the lights on. Not only that but then converting the debt to shares so it is not shown on the balance sheet as club debt. So for me this is still very much work in progress but we are in a much better position now than we were two years ago. |

I've only just managed to watch the highlights. Tried to block it out but it ruined my Saturday night out with the wife and the whole of Sunday. After 50 years I should be used to it but this one will stick around for a while. The real annoying part is every time we have a shot of getting in the play offs we fluff our lines........every bloody time. |

Thanks Clive - Captured the emotions of the four minute disaster perfectly. The last minute winner away at Coventry last season stayed with me for while this one may linger even longer. I keep telling myself to look at the bigger picture - Not in a relegation scrap, club moving in the right direction etc but those moments still take the wind out of your sail. A real shame as I thought we played really well. |

FFS - I missed out on West Ham tickets as I was to slow off the mark and had very disappointed children. “Don’t worry” I told them “I will get Charlton tickets and we will do that one” Guess who has been to slow of the mark again……Dad well and truly in the Doghouse again. Definitely need to up my game……. |

What a milestone and congratulations to Dave for keeping it going. It forms part of our matchday experience buying a copy and it never disappoints. |

Thanks Clive - Great report as always. I am absolutely loving Dunne and Cook "thou shall not pass defending" maybe because I was always a defender back in the day my legs allowed me to play Sunday League. Defending is an art and those two are huge rocks on which to build from. To get Ronnie in the team I would (as I've said many times before) go to 3 at the back with wing backs. |

For me if he was fulfilling his potential he certainly wouldn't be with us. He is still young enough to turn this round and I hope that during the week in training they are working on the areas he needs to improve on. Paul Smyth has much less ability but my god does he work hard especially off the ball. If we could merge them together we would have a £15M winger on our hands. |

Family are all from Acton and my Dad got me my first season ticket in 1975 aged 6. The love has now been passed on to the next generation with my kids who are now also season ticket holders. It gets you this bloody football club. |

Thank you Clive, an entertaining report far more enjoyable than its subject matter. Whilst it was a poor game I was absolutely delighted with the point. As the away team with a long list of injuries I have seen many a QPR team go up North get bullied and well beaten. So to defend as well as we did and compete all over the pitch is a very big plus for me. We went with two strikers so don't think we set up negatively, it was just how the game played out. You get these games in a 46 game season and it was good to see us get back on the bus with something instead of going home empty handed. It will be an even better point if we win at Oxford. And yes Jimmy Dunne was outstanding week by week he is inching himself into Alan McDonald legend status |

Personally I was delighted with a point. Loads of players out injured and over the years I have seen many a QPR side go away up North get bullied and beaten easily. I don’t think we went negativity as we played 2 forwards who both struggled but our back four and goalkeeper stood up and earned us a valuable point. End of really was it a great game no but we stood up and left with a good away point. Onto the next one….. |

Agree with this Simmo - We have become very predictable. A change in formation might just be the ticket. They say "a change is as good as a rest" Or as Charles Darwin would say "it's not the strongest of the species that will survive but the ones who are most adaptable to change" |

Bang on the money again Clive - A brilliant report on the game. Unfortunately I was a little slow of the mark and by the time I logged in to buy my tickets on the evening they went on sale they had all sold out. Even attempts to purchase in the home end proved unsuccessful due to database dates etc etc. Dad was well and truly in the doghouse. So we watched at home on the TV and were all very proud of the team and our support. We are a very special unique club. I am totally aligned with your comments on Loftus Road. I never want us to leave the place I love everything about it especially its location and even the damage it does to my shins... |
 | Forum Reply | Ronnie returns, but is it the handsome deal QPR hope? – Signing at 08:35 10 Jan 2026
My kids are absolutely buzzing about this and I am pleased too. However that niggle Clive has also sits with me on why he couldn't crack it at Southampton. Then I read all the Saint's fans (well circa 90% of them) on social media saying they will live to regret selling him so I am now fully back in the great signing camp. Fans know a good player when they see one. |

Blimey that is a lot especially for a club losing £1.25M per month. You have to give it to our owners with thier consistent backing of our beloved club and a big shout out to Eze too. We still love you Ebb’s I guess they have also taken into consideration Steve Cook’s salary saving post June too for ongoing wages. I still have a niggle why he wasn’t making the Saint’s squad though….. |

I guess all teams have injuries part and parcel of the game. Big chance now for the squad players who have been waiting patiently in the wings. Hayden Kolli Morrison Morgan Field Frey Beanie Smyth All will now get more opportunities.......Big chance to shine |

I think we have messed up with the undersoil heating (wrong temperature or left on for too long) and it has killed the real grass on the pitch. Probably a human error. |

Top notch report Clive and thank you for all your efforts over the busy Christmas schedule keeping us fully entertained with your articles. I said to my brother 30 seconds before Kolli scored his first "I was expecting a bit more from Rayan today with this opportunity" - A real commentators curse. However I was delighted for him and weren't they great finishes. Hopefully he can stay fit now and really grab the opportunity that lies ahead for him. Maybe move Kone to the nine and have Rayan playing off of him. Anyway at least we salvaged something from the Christmas disaster. I told the kids on the way home don't be too disappointed we are making progress as we are no longer looking over our shoulder at the Portsmouth and Oxford results and for now continue to look up the table. Now for a nice FA cup run....... |
 | Forum Reply | Is anyone else feeling a bit depressed this evening? at 19:26 2 Jan 2026
I had the mother of all hangovers and thought don't worry the boys down the bush will sort it out for you..........I came home and sat in a dark room with a cold flannel on my head. January is a always a dreadful month to get through and it does bring some mental health issues but I guess we all just have to dig deep grit our teeth and get through to February when the lighter evenings slowly start to remove the fog from the brain. A QPR cup run would also give us a big shot in the arm...... |
