More words of wisdom from loveable 'pundit' Jamie Redknapp. What a plank! "They've splashed out a lot of money this summer but seem to have brought in the same sort of players as they had before. Apart from Junior Hoilett, I don't get excited by the players they've signed." "I think they'll be mid-table but for the money they've spent I'd have thought the fans would want a bit more than that." www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,,18932_7992405,00.html |

... by Phil "Sucking A Lemon" Thompson Still hasn't forgotten the 3-2! "Who will finish in the bottom three?" "I think most people would have got it wrong last year and predicted that Norwich, Swansea and QPR would have gone down. For all three of them to survive was astonishing. So it's hard to call but at this moment I would say Southampton would be one of them. I also think Wigan will struggle and QPR - despite surviving last year - could be in the mix as well." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/7980122/Premier-Predictions |
| Forum Thread | Why We Will Beat Chelsea at 14:57 25 Apr 2012
On the downside, after last night, Chelsea's self-belief will be boosted, and Torres' goal may mark the beginning of the end of his crisis of confidence. However, I believe there are still good reasons to think we can get a positive result: - fatigue - it will be their 5th game in 15 days, also have to think about resting players - playing Newcastle 3 days later, FA cup final 6 days later - distraction of their cup finals - their minds will be elsewhere - this distraction will lessen the importance of the revenge factor for their defeat at LR, as well as the Terry-Ferdinand situation - their players will want to avoid injuries or cards ahead of their finals - fourth place is no longer their number one focus - they are weakened in defence: - Ivanovic suspended - Cahill probably injured - Luiz probably back, but not match fit and is a liability anyway - Just need someone to tickle Terry's ribs! - their luck cannot hold - they have been exceptionally lucky in their last few games - surely this cannot continue? Of course, we will need a sensible ref performance by Howard Webb. No doubt if Sturridge plays he will reprise his Ashley Young tribute act in an attempt to win pens and cards for our players. I am also assuming the following: - Diakité is fully fit - I think he is vital to our chances - Hughes does not go too defensive and Cissé gets at least an hour - Chelsea's defence is their weak point. If we go for it I really think we have a great chance. U RRRsss! |
| Forum Thread | Non-QPR: Buenos Aires/Argentina/Montevideo at 01:00 14 Feb 2012
I am going to Argentina/Uruguay for 2 weeks in April. Plan is to spend several days in BA & Montevideo, also visiting Iguazu Falls in the north and El Calafate in Patagonia. I also want to go to a football match - there will be a local derby in BA while I'm there - Independiente v Racing Club - "el clásico de Avellaneda" - according to Wiki, the second most important rivalry in Argentine football - sounds good! So I'm angling for tips re the football, things not-to-miss, good bars, restaurants, places to stay in Buenos Aires & Montevideo... Thanks! PS Maybe I should add that I'm going with my wife!
