A true legend of the sport and also as a man. Truly inspirational. Another gone way too soon, and in such a cruel manner, but despite all that, still achieved so much. RIP RB#7. |

It looks like he’s going for a hat trick of Championship relegations he’ll have had a direct hand in. Yes, it is a fair point that both Derby and Brum were/are in a mess as a club, but to under achieve with the level of players he will have at his disposal is surely very worrying for the Plymouth faithful. |

“I go to my fathers in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed." RIP Bernard Hill. I was a bit young to properly appreciate him in Boys from the Black Stuff, but to me gave a great portrayal of King Theoden in the LotR films. |

Thank you Clive for yet another superb season of writing. I don’t know how you keep doing it, and doing it to such a consistently excellent standard. I’ve really yet to read anything remotely duff from you. Your paragraph on our attitude to a dead rubber was absolutely bang on. Previous QPR sides would have completely switched off and we would have lamely succumbed to a defeat and phoned in a weak as p** performance. And we as fans would have pretended not to care. However, the professional attitude the Martí has managed to instil into the team, despite the set-backs, has been an integral part to the remarkable achievement of keeping us up with a game and points to spare. Finishing the season on the same points as Watford, given how we started?! What a turn around. Martí is serious. He means business. There is no let up. I hope we can keep hold of him for a long while! (PS Linda Lusardi always brings a smile!) |

100% Wednesday for me. Despite my username, I have since moved from Leeds and am based in S Yorkshire, and after or maybe on a par with Leeds, I get the impression from supporters of the other S Yorkshire clubs, Wednesday are the most detested. So for that reason, the nature of many (not all!) of their fans I’ve come across, the 6 points we donated to them this season and the way Bannan and his loons celebrated winning the league in the corner of PQ&R blocks, I absolutely want Wednesday to go down. I’d like Brum to stay up. A good mate of mine is a Bluenose and the thought of him being even more downcast is a concern! Love to see Stoke go down too. Not a fan of them. |

That was a beautiful tribute to your mum. Like others I’m choking up too. She sounded like a fantastic person and she will always be in your heart wherever you are. Condolences to you and yours at this sad time. |

Properly channelled the Spirit of Di Carmine!! (The only good thing that Samuel ever did for us!) Cements his place in QPR folk lore for that. |

RIP Stan the Man. Alas I too am too young to have seen him play live, but there is no doubt that he epitomised what makes our club the treasure it is. Condolences to his family and to those that knew him closely. Another lost to the great footie match in the sky. |

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68345885 Really sad news. One of my favourite German players growing up. Lethal dead-ball expert with both feet (even without Paul Parker’s help!). Quite the playing career with league titles for 3 clubs as well as the World Cup. RIP Weltmeister Andi. |

Condolences to you and yours Toast_R and may your mum Rest In Peace. As tough as this time is, and particularly that last 48 hours, you were there with her mate, you were there. It’s probably scant consolation right now, but you were able to be there for her and that would have meant the world. Mind how you go. |

Fair play for holding your hand up re Ossie. I think you actually hit the nail on the head there in that with Cifuentes and now Calm, he’ll have had some proper coaching tailored to his skills and deficiencies. He’s a player I think you can coach “up” and as a result he, and others, will improve. [Post edited 12 Nov 2023 20:56]

I thought Ossie had a good game. Yes, he is a limited player, but there were lots of positives. He made plenty of good tackles, generally passed it about well and there were good bits of inter-play developing between him and Smyth. Yes he got in the way of Smyth’s shot in the 2nd half, but he put in some decent crosses - the one he completely fluffed I actually thought was pretty tricky as the ball was running away from him and he couldn’t quite get his body round it. He was always showing for the ball, and didn’t shirk his challenges. From his abilities, not sure what more we can expect?! Reminds me a bit of Peter Ramage in that he was never going to be the best player in the world, but you knew you’d get an honest shift from him. Rather that than the Joel Lynches of this world who could have been better, but would just ring in a performance, assuming they bothered to show up. |
