Button was brought in by Dale boss Keith Hill in the run in to the 2007-8 season, where an injury crisis had robbed us both of our first choice keepers. He came as back to fellow loanee Tommy Lee but was unable to edge his way in front of Lee, and left Spotland after a month without an appearance to his name.
He came with a decent reputation. His career had seen come through the ranks at White Hart Lane, and whilst at the time of joining Dale he hadn't come close to the first team at Spurs, he had received international recognition, playing for England at U-17 level.
He had another loan spell at Grays earlier in the season where he made just one solitary appearance.
